1943-44 — Milton Henschel Historical Documents

Today I uploaded some historical documents that researchers might find helpful.

These documents show Milton Henschel at 23 years of age.

Milton Henschel was President of the Watchtower Society from December 30, 1992 until his death on March 22, 2003.

Included in this documentation is a short letter authored by Nathan Knorr, a document issued by the local selective service board, and a birth document.

The presentation is titled 1943-44 — Milton Henschel Historical Documents and is available at: http://marvinshilmer.blogspot.com/2011/03/1943-44-milton-henschel-historical.html

Knorr's letter to the Secretary of State sent me on a little search.

Cordell Hull (October 2, 1871 – July 23, 1955) was an American politician from the U.S. state of Tennessee. He is best-known as the longest-serving Secretary of State, holding the position for 11 years (1933–1944) in the administration of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt during much of World War II. Hull received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1945 for his role in establishing the United Nations, and was referred to by President Roosevelt as the Father of the United Nations.

    Tee hee hee.

Notice the passport application- MG Henschel swears to protect and defend the Constituation of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic and swears alligience to the same.

Seems like brothers in Africa would have been persecuted rather than sign/swear such an oath.

Wow - I clicked on the party card for Malawi and enlarged it so it was easy to read - amazing, just amazing that all those brothers and sisters had to suffer like they did because WTS decided it couldn't be signed. It was one of the most reasonable documents for a government to issue I have ever seen. Establishes Franz's comments totally. A small pledge requiring one to obey the laws of the land in essence - should never have become a conscience issue at all.

Thank you so much for this post and I shall enjoy looking over even more items in my leisure - it is a treasure house. Thank you again.
