  I guess Soldier 77's mother was refererring to this line :

  "traditional ironlike rulerships have been obliged to listen more and more to the common people, who want their say in the governments ruling over them".

  This is happening in the Arab World now. However The Society have applied this verse to any uprising, of which we have seen several in our time as well as all the others, eg the French Revolution. In the late 50's we studied the book "Your Will Be Done on Earth" which really discussed Daniel in depth. Page 125 discussed Daniel 2 ;43 . It said that it was fulfilled in the Russian revolution and the growth of Socialist governments which, at the height of the cold war were seen as a threat.

  This thought was repeated in the next "Daniel Book" "Our Incoming World Government - Gods Kingdom" [1977] However, in just a year the WT June 15 1978 said that it was weakening elements within the Anglo American World Power, like labor unions , protesters etc...

  So over the years they have several attempts at this verse, depending on the political trends of time...Not too dificult really .

  Sad fact is that Mumsie is overstepping her place in God's theocratic organization by propounding on what is fulfillment of Bible prophecy at any given moment and you could kindly and gently point that out to her...(GAG)

  Only the 'appointed slave', don't 'ya know, can definitively pontificate on these utterances of long ago and Gawd is only using the pages of the Watchtower to disseminate that information so if it's not actually in the study article, you don't want to jump ahead of the pack...

  Maybe ask your Mom why they haven't updated the Daniel book (by her own admission - it is 11 years old) - should be updated so that Witnesses around the world are on the same page on these things. I mean, really, are the rank and file just supposed to GUESS what the actual fulfilment of these prophecies is? Anyhow, like I say, I feel for ya

  Thanks for the feedback all. It saddens me to think my mom is still sucked into this vortex of bullshit. I guess being away from the meetings and the association of the brain drained really puts things in perspective once you are focused back on it through emails like this.

  Truth be told, today was the first time I opened up the CDROM in at least 6 months. So tired of looking at that crap.

  The image remains standing where the iron and clay do not mix well. Any vague reference can be a fulfillment of that part. The nations acting together at the United Nations, the place WTS wanted a library card, is where democracy and dictatorship do not mix well.

  The image is struck with the stone from God. Daniel 2:44, 45 tells them that. The people revolting in the streets may well fit some NT scriptures, but it is not the way WTS discussed Daniel.

  Of course, anything that happens is a fulfillment of prophecy to WTS when they keep changing what they say, what they said, what it means.

  wow, a very vague (and thats being generous) reference in the daniel book means that whats going on in libya and egypt is a fullfilment?

  how about this:

  Yourmomma 1:15 "And yet again, the bull was slaugtered by a man with a vision of 9 lions. Each lion had 7 gold chains, and on the gold chains was a scoll that said "Thy Lord Is In Thy House Biatches!" Suddently a stentch and as a swift wind blows as if over a wheat field, A powerful storm, and the sky opened up and it was the voice of the bowels of destruction and it said "BBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!"

  Clearly this prophecy was fulfilled Febuary 28th 2011 when I used my bathroom after eating mexican.
