...the reason I don't start or often participate in "where is so-and-so? I miss him." threads is because by singling you out, I'm also leaving out everyone else. I think those sorts of threads do more harm than good. That's just my perspective.
So if you've been away and come back to find a "miss you" thread and I didn't post in it, that's why. It isn't that I didn't miss you or that I don't value your presence. I just don't generally "do" those sorts of threads.
I will add that that when I leave for a while and come back and there are NO "miss you" threads dedicated to me.......
I'm not offended.

That's nice. But I didn't start it as a popularity thread, I not a fan of those kinds of threads. I really do miss the Flip and I know that's been kinda hard up where he lives. Most folks on the board wouldn't know what's going on in Flip's neck of the woods unless they lived relatively close by.

I responded because both Flippers and I check on each others from time to time.
Mrs. Flipper is very interested in the Black Belt of Alabama and the Gee's Bend quilters, and I just love sharing their history.
I guess their phones will be lighting up after this thread; I know I shall call them.

I don't look in here every day and I don't read every post so people can be gone a long time before I ever notice that they are MIA. I miss a lot of birthdays and greeting new people but that is the nature of this form of communication.
So if you're gone I miss you. If your back welcome back. If it has been your birthday recently Happy Birthday whoever you are.
I agree, this is only a forum nothing more.I try not to get too emontionally attached to these types of things.Reason is because it is not healthy for anybody.
