Next time you go to the Doctor's office they should be able to provide a DPA and you can have anyone be in charge of your health if you are unable to consent. Destroy your "blood" card if you haven't already.

Is a DPA universal? Or is it only good for the doctors you file it with? What does DPA stand for?

DPA is Durable Power of Attorney.
They usually have a handful of specific instructions and a named person who is authorized to make sure those instructions are adhered to and to make decisions about issues not specifically laid out in the document in the event you are incapacitated.

That is a good question. I just thought that the doctors did what they felt they needed to do unless there were instructions like the JW blood card to do otherwise.
