So, the subtle message is clear, the Great Crowd are not children of God, they are “friends” of God.

Great scriptures Stephen but they even have that covered by saying the greek scriptures were written for the annointed.
When I was a elder I would tell certain ones that the ransom sacrifice only applies to the anointed and not the great crowd many did not know that.
I never heard that as a JW. So Jesus died for the 144,000's sins, that's it? So the rest of humanity is just SOL? What about Jesus being the Greater Adam? Since the first Adam plunged all of mankind into sin, the Greater Adam was supposed to redeem everybody. How and when did the GB change this?

They can say it, but they can't prove it. That would require too much, like proving the two-tiered salvation plan and that only 144,000 JWs go to heaven. They can't prove that the New Covenant only applies to the 144,000. The list is endless, their burdens of proof insurmountable.

In ancient Israel the sinner brought or purchased the sacrifice for himself. The anointed priests merely worked as butchers and custodians of the ritual.
If this is a shadow of real things....
where does that leave today's anointed custodians?
"And what's worse is you can't make em see that they're being duped. The articles are so confusing that most dubs just consider them "deep" and just shut down and accept what they're told to believe.
I used to wonder why I couldn't figure out some of the "deeper" articles. I may not be a genius but I'm not exactly dumb. I could read other works and wrap my brain around them, but WT articles like this just confused the hell out of me. And like all other brain dead dubs, I gave up trying to figure it out...until I finally had that "aha!" moment."

This watchtower 'double speak' is part of why some stay in .... the mind so stretched every which way, just gives up in exhaustion!
The result is capitulation to watchtower persuasion.
For most it is really too much and they think ... Ok whatever, they know best!

When I start to read a thread like this.. and i ask to my self "What the hell are they talking about..... Jesus who?, annointed what?" I get soooo happy :-)
is it me or was this article one of the clearest in stating that the way to get salvation is going out in field service?
i agree that this docterine is not new, but its kind of new that they are bringing it up for study. and the reason i think that is, is they are setting up a power play for the governing body. it seems headed in that direction and i think all these articles that suck the GB's d**k are part of the conditioning of the JW's to get them used to a pope like governing body.
