Please refresh my memory.
In the past, did they have an actual Watchtower study at the assembly with questions and answers?
If so, do you know when that ended and they started doing the review as a 30 minute talk?
What would the arrangement at the assembly in, say, 1966 have been for the Watchtower study?

Yes Mad Sweeney they did have an actual WT study at the assemblies. I remember that at one time it used to be assigned to a congregation and the brother taking the study chose some in his cong to be the 'pretend congregation' who sat up the front at the circuit assembly. All the answers were allocated and rehearsed (I was actually in one of these). I seem to remember that at other times, maybe for the district conventions, that they had a pretend congregation sit on the platform and the study was conducted like a mini WT study at the hall. I can't remember exactly when they switched to the summary talks. These memories are starting to get a bit vague now the longer I am out.

I remember that! It must have stopped sometime in the late '80s to mid '90s then, since that's when I would have been old enough to remember. I don't remember when it stopped either. Sorry, mad.
I remember it too...they always had someone prepared in front to answer..

Definitely is before the 80's.. exactly when, not totally sure..
They had a happy, snappy bunch of JWs for the pretend congregation on the platform, giving the rehearsed answers to the WT- stepford types.
Similar to what Hopscotch remembers, then IIRC it was a 30 min review just by the speaker.

I started studying in 2006 and I was at 2 or 3 assemblies where the study was done with questions and rehearsed answers. So the change was made after 2006.

May have been the Bible Highlights (they still do this for the bible highlights). We have had the Watchtower summary for quite a while now.
