been baptised for 15 years and it still same crap. my wife who takes notes and thinks she pays attention when the brother says jesus is our meadiator and doesn't pay attention that the watchtower just stated he is the mediator for the anointed. oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh thats right we do benifit but rank an file dont catch the confusing statements. the great crowed is just lucky to grab the skirt of a jew. (bullsh....t) and read in the proper contects u would never think that had to do with gb/anointed today but lies will be lies.

gay pierce from gb talked about many truthful things that can captivate us all but doesnt hold up because most jw and people in the world are looking for someone to blame. Iv learned that they are as the scriptures say tickling our ears. they tell us what we want and need to hear. Instead of saying wake up and smell the coffee, u are in controle of your own happyness not someone else. and that all things happen in the now or the moment and this to will pass. that every day is good but some are just better so dont get to attatched to any thing or any moment cause thier will be annother unless u die. We need to stop worring about life and live it. Enjoy it when u can and stop getting so attatched to things. thats just some of my thoughts ..............Luv ya

You mean hope of happiness OUTSIDE of being a dummy err......dubby? Sure, but it's just temporary. Those people on the magazines....now those are the SOBs we wanna be. No more television, movies, music (unless it's KM), sports, video games, toys, hell there won't even be a Spongebob Squarepants because using ones imagination to make a cartoon drawing of a sponge talk surely would pave the way for the deemonz since sponges are inanimate objects. Oh boy! Yeah, that's happiness up the wahzoo, let's make THAT happen. -_-'

I know I don't believe any of it now but I would still like to understand what they are teaching but I'm confused now with this Jesus is mediator only for the 144,000 thingy. Can some lovely person on here explain it to me, please.

Are they saying the free gift of everlasting life etc. is for anointed only and everyone else has to work for it?

Also, if Christ is not mediator for everyone else how/why are they supposed to pray through him?

    Thank you

    Amelia

There is this WT article 2008 12/15

It explains how Jesus is mediator only to the annointed and only they are part of the new covenant. It would appear that they believe the new covenant is only in regards to the heavenly kingdom where Jesus is ruling and will soon reign for 1,000 years with the annointed joining him as kings and priests.

    Mediator of a New Covenant”

11 Read1 Timothy2:5, 6. Jesus is the “one mediator between God and men.” He is “the mediator of a new covenant.” (Heb. 9:15; 12:24) However, Moses is also spoken of as a mediator—the mediator of the Law covenant. (Gal. 3:19) How, then, is Jesus’ role as Mediator unique?

The original-language word translated “mediator” is a legal term. It refers to Jesus as a legal Mediator (or, in a sense, an attorney) of the new covenant that made possible the birth of a new nation, “the Israel of God.” (Gal. 6:16) This nation is composed of spirit-anointed Christians, who form a heavenly “royal priesthood.” (1 Pet. 2:9; Ex. 19:6) The Law covenant, with Moses as mediator, was not able to produce a nation like that. What does Jesus’ role as Mediator involve? Well, Jehovah applies the value of Jesus’ blood to those being brought into the new covenant. In this way, Jehovah legally credits them with righteousness. (Rom. 3:24; Heb. 9:15) God can then take them into the new covenant with the prospect of their becoming heavenly king-priests! As their Mediator, Jesus assists them in maintaining a clean standing before God.—Heb. 2:16. What about those who are not in the new covenant, those who hope to live forever on earth, not in heaven? While not participants in the new covenant, these are beneficiaries of it. They receive forgiveness of their sins and are declared righteous as God’s friends. (Jas. 2:23; 1 John 2:1, 2) Whether we have a heavenly hope or an earthly hope, each one of us has good reason to appreciate Jesus’ role as the Mediator of the new covenant.

Amelia the great crowd are being pushed further away from Jehovah and jesus. At one time they could be declared righteous as friends of god and the annointed could be declared righteous with "immortality in view". Now Jesus is the mediator of only the new covenant and therefore can only act as mediator for 144,000. The great crowd gain approval based on how they obey the faithful and discreet slave. so obedience to men determines the right to everlating life.

Evidently, when Jesus said "I am The Way, The Truth and The life, no one comes to the Father except through me" he did not evidently mean that.

He was saying ,evidently, that only anyone going to heaven would have to follow Him.

No all honest-hearted searchers after truth admit that if you wish to live on a paradise earth, you will only achieve this by recognising the Governing Body of JW/WT as The Way Truth and Life, and following them, evidently.

Now, if you want me to explain how such an attitude and belief is not idolatry toward the governing body, I may be somewhat hard pressed, evidently.

This is an excellent philosophy to live by. In bullet-point form:

    • You are in control of your own happiness, not someone else
    • All things happen in the present moment
    • All things will pass
    • Every day is good
    • Some days are even better
    • Do not get attached to any particular thing because there will always be more things
    • Do not get attached to any particular moment because there will always be more moments
    • Enjoy every thing and every moment of every day
    • Then, when your moments are finally at an end, you will say you had a happy and fulfilled life and will go in peace

And don't feel guilty about the things WT says you can't do (worry about what the Bible says) and you decide it's OK for you to do anyway.
