    Hi POY...and welcome.

I can speak to meeting the "right girl". I met my first wife when I was 16 and a newly baptized JW. She was beautiful, sweet, perfect in every way...when I was 16. We got married when I was 19 and stayed married 20+ years...unfortunately, that perfect girl at 16 was not the perfect girl at 40...and I am sure I was not the perfect guy either! The point I make is that there is no way to identify that "right" person when you are in your teens or early 20's. You go through a ton of changes as you mature, and the person you are at 20 is rarely the person you are at 30 or 40. Be patient, and don't fall into the JW trap of being pushed into an early and likely unhappy marriage.

The tricky thing with relationships is that both parties are always changing. So how do you know that the person you meet won't end up becoming your worst enemy in 10-20 years?

Anyways, pleasure to meet you granny lol. Rest assured I am looking into this religion. So far its what I expected it to be. But, I just spent 2 hours studying and I got to catch some sleep. Night everybody.

    Power of Youth,

It was interesting to read your post. "right now I am regular pioneering and going to college." I was a regular pioneer at 17, no college though. So many young witnesses don't pioneer now after leaving school. When I was 17 it was encouraged and alot did. When I pioneered I sincerely believed I would never be the age I am now and still be in this old system. However I am. If I had believed it, I would have had to argue against my parents the Elders and CO, DO who thought otherwise and would have been viewed as apostate in my thinking.

Although I am still here in this old system and they were wrong. I am viewed as having apostate thinking. Maybe I would have benefited from the apostate thinking if I'd had it earlier.

"I really do love Jehovah and bible principles" That's a good line. Don't lose that as the years go by.

Hey Finger, it seems as if most of you guys were witnesses back in the 70s? 80s? That must have been a crummy time to be one. Some of the old, strict friends in my hall must have been much younger and much more energetic back then lol. I think part of the reason why I can't agree with you guys off the bat is because things aren't as bad as they were back then. Of course, we are still encouraged to do as much as possible but you do always have the option of saying no(one of my favorite words.)

Im up granny! Anyone want to post their story or past dealings with this religion?

http://exjw.weebly.com/ Yes they have changed over the years.
We had 8 day assemblies ,we had to travel far to get to them, Being poor
many of us used to take tents to live in. When it rained we sat in wet clothes.
Pioneers had much longer hours .Also they used to say they could tell how
intelligent we were by the bumps on our head( Pity I didnt have mine felt)
I would have known sooner how stupid I was....Glad your up POY!!!!
Read some of the stories of the exjws. Many lost families to suicide
What they teach the young ones about masturbating Is disgusting...
No wonder they encourage very young marriages ,If they say it is wrong.

Making them feel guilty!!!So the young marry( for sex... a NATuRAL feeling from GOD)
And when they realize they married for the wrong reason.they are unhappy.

I do hope you ask MY GOD!!!!! Who Is the Father ,Jesus Christ who is HIS son! & the
teacher HOLY SPIRIT to come into YOUR life .Read what the Bible say's God said

"LISTEN TO MY SON"""" Not any man made religion....

I had a rough week and had 3 different tests to study for =(. Glad thats over, anyways..........

I heard about those 8 day conventions......I would have died lol. You have to explain the bumps thing to me though because I didn't quite understand it. As far as masturbation, I used to do it from age 13-15. Honestly, I would have been better off without out. I just didn't enjoy looking at a woman without being able to picture her in bed after a while. It made me feel weak and like I didn't have any self control and I felt like I was disrespecting women in general. Thats just my personal experience though. I will say though that to feel guilty enough to commit suicide over it is pretty sad =(. I look back on it now and while I wasn't proud of it, it certainly cannot compare to murder in my eyes. As far as what Jesus would have said on that specific matter.....I can't imagine that he would support it, but I can't imagine that he would send someone on a lethal guilt trip either.

Oh! And about marrying young, maybe the elders or whatever encouraged that but that definitely isnt scriptural. Still, you have crazy people where ever you go I guess lol.

They used to teach that a person could feel the head.
& by the bumps on the head they could tell weather you were intellgent
or not... There is a name for it, But I forget it.OLD AGE!!!
Sorry you have had a rough week love. Hope it is a better one next week.
You must have great self control for a young lad, I commend you
