Is there a thread devoted to outlining year-by-year every published Watchtower and Awake! article on child sex abuse scandals in the Churches of Christendom?

If so, how far back does the organization's literature go on this topic?

I remember as a teenager/young adult seeing "news" snippets in the Awake! magazine - usually in the "Watching the World" section - criticizing the Catholic Church's then emerging record of tolerating priests who sexually abused children.

It would be interesting to be reminded of the way in which the organization zealously seized hold of sexual abuse allegations against Catholics - and other churches - and made itself look so morally righteous and above the sordid nature of the scandals.

Given the current prickly climate within the organization, I should imagine that the organization's writers will have already been directed by the GB to steer clear of any published comments on media stories of child sexual abuse in churches.

Or, the most recent item in the organization's literature on child sex abuse problems in other religions?

This would make for an interesting compilation paired with the cases reported within the JW religion.

Here is a list of references:

This is a sample from it:
"The Watchtower, June 1st 2002 Issue, Page 25:
Certain incidents in particular shocked me.... Another time, the principal of the Baptist school attempted to abuse me sexually. I learned afterward that he was a homosexual and had abused others. I pondered these things, wondering to myself, 'Does God approve of religions whose members and even whose leaders are not held accountable for gross sins'."

    And another list...

'Does God approve of religions whose members and even whose leaders are not held accountable for gross sins'."

In other words , we do take a stand by disfellowshipping these individuals, this is where the confusion originates for pedophilia is a crime in most countries and not just another typical sin involving sexual behavior.

They don't make mention to the police and many times these people go out to re-offend in the general public or if they return upon being reinstated, they re-offend within other congregations.

There really wasn't much until a 1982 Awake and an 1983 WT.

    Thanks everyone. Very helpful indeed!

Hey Blondie I'm surprised to hear that. I do have a memory as a child of reading something in the Awake or Watchtower critcising the Catholic Church over priests sexually abusing children so that would place it in the early to mid-60s. That said, I know memory can play tricks...

There was a Watchtower study on sexual abuse of minors. I remember commenting on it at a meeting. It was between 1990-1996.
