years ago when we were still witnesses, my wife was friends with a lady who wore the religion on her sleeve.

In fact, she divoriced her husband because he would not become a witness, it was a several year-long process but she finally succeeded in getting rid of him.

When she got her divorce, she decided to get certified as a nursing assistant, and she used us as a reference regarding her loan for school.

Fast forward several years,,,,,, she gets remarried to an elder out in Las Vegas and continue to lives her ultra self rightous lifestyle as a jw.

But at least two times a year, the bank-loan officer calls us asking if we know where this "rightous" christian lady can be contacted.

She never paid one penny back for her education. In fact, there is some kind of a warrant out for her, if she returns to Illinois, she can be arrested.

So on one side, she is living out the jw fantasy in las vegas, but she can be thrown in prison for not paying her loan back if she comes back to her home state.

And she just loves to tell anyone what terrible people my wife and I are for walking away from the "truth"

What would you do ? Send her a smartly worded reminder on facebook, or just leave it all alone ?

My wife just ignores the whole thing, yet I'm getting a little short regarding this annual reminder that she is a living breathing hypocrite.

You might want to check - discreetly - with a lawyer and see if you could be thought of as "aiding and abetting" a fugitive, if you do not give out whatever information you may have, about her whereabouts...

If it were just a collection agency, that would be one thing, but the warrant brings the law into the situation.

I didn't read that you were a reference on her loan at first... so knowing that, instead of 'might', I would send her a message (private) to let her know that the loan officer keeps contacting you, and would like her information. That you no longer wish to be the go-between and could she please take care of that.

I would also see what I could do about getting the loan officer to stop calling you, since you no longer have contact with the woman you once referenced.

Send her a message on facebook, but all she'll probably do is delete you as a "friend".

Haha...tell them to send the request to you in writing and then when you get it, forward it to the BOE in her cong. in Vegas. LOL You owe her nothing, turn her ass in to bill collectors or whoever.

I've never heard of a warrant for arrest being issued for a debt unless it involved bad checks. Why not just tell the loan officer where she is? That should get them off yur back, and you'll be doing the right thng.

Actually, you should contact her for her address because you want to send her something. Then call the loan officer and let them know of her new address and tell them that the calls need to end and to remove you as a reference and that you did your part.

I take it you were just a character reference, and not actually a cosigner.

Otherwise the bank loan officers would be after you for the balance.

I would definately give them her contact information.
