Together with our pioneers and regular aux. pioneers almost 70% will be participating. The pressure is high to participate but I'm holding on. I have a health excuse for a couple of months and our CO doesn't count the hours towards your average if you're (aux.) pioneering so I'm trying to avoid another talkin' to.

YNOT!!! - missed you but glad you're still checking in.

Yeah, ours is around 50% (including the regulars). They've posted a list with the elders and MS names in a different colored font. They actually got 100% participation from the 7 elders and 7 ms which I was shocked to see. Some of those elders have not aux pioneered in at least the 10+ years that I've known them and I think there are one or two that maybe never did. The CO is coming this month which I'm sure put extra pressure on them to do so.

Like OM, I'm in the spiritual loser class (and proud of it).

Sir82 makes a great point about the Memorial invite "work". Those tract campaigns are the easiest FS (other than driving around doing RVs) that your average dub will get.

I think the response was enough to make it an annual event. However, I'll bet the ratios are slightly lower next year as the novelty wears off.

I wonder how many people will actually be touched to become a jw....I wonder how much time will be spent going door to door when people are home, not during the day? Evenings, Saturday and Sunday afternoons and evenings? I imagine that more time will be spent on coffee breaks.

    30 hours = 1 hour a day = will it happen?

Anyone pick up on a subtle "spirit of competition" between neighboring congregations?

I have. It's kind of funny to watch because on the one hand, stirring up competition may be somewhat effective. OTOH, competition is a JW no-no.

I remember the spirit of competition during the pre-1975 period.

All our elders are pioneering...are yours

All the teenagers are pioneering...are yours

Btw, if you're wondering why your elders and ms's and their family's all participate - there's a lot of pressure from the top and unless you have a good excuse you can expect a talking to from your co or get a downgrade. I got fried a couple of times already on why I haven't filled out my slip.

WOW-Looks like there will be a lot of JWs fighting for a spot on the sidewalk in front of the 7-11 convenient stores at 9:30 AM tomorrow- maybe I can help them start their time with a good kick in the shins debate.

The names of all those aux. pioneering was read at the hall this week ... it was about 50% of total publishers, probably 60%-70% of average meeting attenders. I never personally felt comfortable about these boast and applause sessions.

More importantly .... ((((((((((Yknot)))))))))) ... I was worrying about you! I was about to track you down girl, I had my private eye mode ready to go. So glad you checked in.

Yeah 50% here - I expect they'll read em out this Thursday at the announcements (if they remember - oh of course they will cuz for once the hotshot elders are doing it and will want their names read out) - yawn.

My forecast for the January 2012 km:

Can you Auxilliary Pioneer this Memorial Season? (10 mins Q&A To be handled by overzealous elder with great freeness of speech)

    1. After the bounteous thrilling spiritual blessing from Jehovah last memorial month the FDS (tm) (Matt 24 v 45-47) are offering the same privilege this memorial and as it is so close to the turn of the month between March and April you can choose which month to do your 30 hours in! How thrilled we are at this wonderful opportunity to zealously join in this great shout of praise.

    Q) Why are we thrilled?

    2. One elderly sister who we will call Martha aged 103 who auxilliary pioneered last year said "I was so excited at this thrilling opportunity to have one last thrilling opportunity to auxilliary pioneer that I zealously took the opportunity to join the ranks of pioneers. It wasn't easy, being in an oxygen tent an'all but four strong ministerial servants carried me to all the householders so that I could join in this thrilling opportunity! I am so pleased that although I may never see Armageddon (I've only been waiting 60 years, God is not slow etc ...) that I have had this thrilling opportunity to join in this great shout of praise!" If Martha can do it then how about you you slacker?

Q A) Why was Martha thrilled? B) Can you Auxilliary Pioneer, you slackers?

    3. Damien* who has no arms or legs and who is encased in an Iron Lung signs using American Eyelid Language - his carers are a willing source of thrilling opportunity for Damien to witness. We should not infer that Damien was winking at the pretty nurse but understand that he was innocently offering the thrilling opportunity of everlasting life to her.

    *Name has not been changed

    Q) Why was Damien thrilled?

    4. Let us consider our circumstances and see if we can join in this thrilling opportunity and be thrilled at having the great privilege to bear witness in Memorial Season 2012! If you cannot manage 30 hours what can you do - you faithless and useless bloodguilty slave!?

    Q) What should we do to be thrilled and therefore not be bloodguilty and a subject of Gehenna?

    Or sumpin' like that!
