I love the smell of coffee, but I never developed the taste for it. I'm a tea drinker.
That's a beautiful memory Syl!
I'll drink a cup tomorrow and salute the spirit of that story.
No electricity, no TV, no movies, no cars, no trucks, etc.
I watched a doco not so long ago where a group of women got together for a cuppa joe.
I their grass hut they roasted their beans in a frying pan over the fire and did the whole coffee ritual together. The big surprise for me was the lovely little white cups that looked totally out of place against the dirt floor.
It would be an invitation I could never refuse.
snowbird,
I love the smell of freshly-brewed coffee. Even better when it's a little bit nippy (cold) in the air. Holding a warm mug and smelling that great aroma is intoxicating!

Thanks, WasBlind.
I am told that my papa and his papa ( a preacher man) had a way with words.
The story goes that when g'pa got worked up while delivering a sermon, his words would ring out like a hammer upon an anvil!
If I couldn't have my coffee, that would be the start of the Big "A" for me
LOL.
You are a mess!
You, too, paint pictures with words.
Syl
I love the smell and taste of coffee, but alas, I gave it up in 1982 because it does terrible things to my digestive tract - I can still enjoy the smell, though.
