What they love the most is their notoriety, it's what gives them their identity. They are the very definition of "attention whore", and they make it very easy for others to give them what they want. Without that attention they would whither away and die.

The kind of brain input that comes from the most influential person in their lives growing up, their father Fred. Like a dead fish, the rot starts at the head and works its way down.

This is the follow up piece on the Westboro Baptist Church recently shown on BBC. Louis Theroux did one on them 4 years ago, and he returns to see how things have changed. The change that he puts a lot of focus on is the defection/disfellowshipping of some members. He interviews some of them and their families and finds that there is no remorse by the true believers for how they are ignoring their children and siblings, even though it's obvious that some are having a hard time hiding their true feelings. There is also talk of them moving out of the US to Jeruselem because of the Supreme Court ruling and into some pink caves (yes, pink caves). While there they will minister to the 144,000 Jews who are returning to Christ.
