Without the conscious analysis, it's just another lulling brainwash...""We're good! You're bad! I CAN'T SEE YOU!"

The timing of these articles is very poor for me... I've put my foot down and am not going to meetings anymore, my family will now become indoctinated to shun me or else view me with suspicion before i can do any good with my young nephews and nieces to prevent them from getting baptised either early (teenage) or preferably at all.

So here I am now standing out like a sore thumb, and they will have their minds closed for good it feels like to me... Anyway I couldnt take it anymore so i quit regardless of the timing or the further implications to my family. I cant go back now.

When was the last time I, or indeed any stable person, said when you disagreed with them about scripture, "HEY! Where else is there to go for truth, but to ME? I TAUGHT YOU EVERYTHING YOU KNOW!" It's tantamount to the organization saying, I am the Truth. No one comes to God except through me. It's not even really disguising that, either, just flat out saying it. "The organization through which you learned these truths."

I pointed this out on another thread but it bears repeating here as they reference John 6:66-69 at the end of this paragraph. Replacement of Jeuss with "organization"

    There they say:

Why, then, allow yourself to be soured by anyone who would denigrate the organization through which you learned these truths?—John 6:66-69.

Yan Bibiyan I was thinking of the same thing you brought out on your post. Pre 1989 communist propaganda. But you posted it much better. Totally ADD

Dear heart, you are the only one who could make me laugh at such a sad article. Thank you.

Well considered. Many thanks, sd7. That's brilliant. Don Cameron in his Captives of a Concept book similarly compared the them-and-us language which provided a stark contrast between the terms describing the organization and those they perceived as its enemies. Reading it in a list as you (and he) have done underlines the point so well.

Mentally diseased? So what do they call it when the organization goes to great lengths to hide major problems in its organization? Like all the pedophiles and baby-killers lurking within the flock? I wonder what would ever happen if someone in the congregation actually were to blow in someone that kills and eats a baby to the police. It's this policy of silence that makes one wonder how much more goes on that we don't get to see.

And, the "mental disease" is simply that we have had enough teaching a lie, wasting our time doing something that doesn't even reduce the amount of work left, and being hounded all the time. Yes, some apostates have mental problems (often resulting from the witlesses' choking out their fulfillment and/or constant harassment from the witlesses). But, an organization that hides major problems can't be free of major mental disease.

It's amazing how WT contradicts itself

Do Not Be a Victim of Propaganda!

    "A fool will believe anything." —P ROVERBS 14:15, T ODAY'S E NGLISH V ERSION.

THERE is a difference—a big difference—between education and propaganda. Education shows you how to think. Propaganda tells you what to think. Good educators present all sides of an issue and encourage discussion. Propagandists relentlessly force you to hear their view and discourage discussion. Often their real motives are not apparent. They sift the facts, exploiting the useful ones and concealing the others. They also distort and twist facts, specializing in lies and half-truths. Your emotions, not your logical thinking abilities, are their target.

The propagandist makes sure that his message appears to be the right and moral one and that it gives you a sense of importance and belonging if you follow it. You are one of the smart ones, you are not alone, you are comfortable and secure—so they say.

How can you protect yourself from the types of people that the Bible calls "profitless talkers" and "deceivers of the mind"? ( Titus 1:10 ) Once you are familiar with some of their tricks, you are in a better position to evaluate any message or information that comes your way.

Thanks for including that article, truthseeker--it's a great one that's a redux of an article from the '70s. It is dead on about the very methods the Society is using in the July 15th WT. There's no reasoning used at all--just name-calling, labelling, attacking of motives, and demands to avoid considering the opposing point of view under threat of death, be it figurative or the ever-impending literal version at Armageddon.

Also, thanks, Jamie--I'm glad someone saw the humor in this one, as sick as it is. Good Grievous...
