I find the Weakest Link offensive and not at all good TV. Saw it once and never again. Seems the interest is wearing down. They started another version supposedly less combative.

You Brits play football don't ya? We call it "soccer" but I think it's the one sport we share. The others like Snooker and Croquet are not really called "sports" over here. They are club games. I play pool on my pocket pool table but haven't played snooker before. I love Croquet and play it every summer. We also play lawn bowling over here and golf. Golf would be the only common game most americans call a "sport".

Our biggest sports are football (not the soccer variety but the grid-iron variety), baseball (probably a variation of cricket), basketball (I think this is unique as an american sport and now popular all over the world), and ice-hockey (most popular across the northern border in Canada). Of mention are soccer, golf, and tennis (also in common with you Brits). Some other sports are not as popular but can be observed in much of America, such as, lacrosse, archery, track and field, bicycling, running, vollyball, etc. We are quite sports crazy over here. Several TV channels are devoted to sports although the only one you mention that makes it on TV regularly is pocket pool. We used to see rugby and Australian rules football on ESPN when they were just getting started but you'd have to stay up past midnight to get any coverage of the less popular sports these days.
