You need a messiah

    You also completely ignored this paragraph:

    That is quite a judgment to make. You know what about me other than I don't agree that someone *needs* a messiah? Do you know what I believe? Do you know what relationship I have with God, if any at all? Is it your place to judge those things with that information, let alone without it? At what point were you appointed to decide upon the veracity of my beliefs, values, and mores? I fully support your right to decide upon yours as long as they do not tread upon the rights of others... but I take exception with you not granting me the same respect.

    StopTheTears;

    "We reject the corporation based in New York, but we DO NOT reject the truth of our messiah and his plans for us and our future in paradise."

    You reject the corporation in New York, yet you use their images.

    Who is the Messiah? Moonies think it is a Korean named Rev. Moon. Muslims also believe in Jesus as do Mormons (one of many gods). JWs believe He is Michael the Archangel, a created being.

    The biblical, historical, orthodox view is that Jesus is Lord God, Almighty God, uncreated Creator. Until a JW or former JW confesses Jesus as Lord/YHWH/Jehovah, they cannot be saved for heaven or paradise earth (Jn. 1:1; Jn. 5:18; Jn. 8:58; Jn. 10:30-33; Jn. 20:28, etc.). In Pauline/Johannine thought, to confess Jesus as Lord is to confess Him as Jehovah God. Paul warned about false gospels and counterfeit/worthless Christs (Gal. 1:6-10; 2 Cor. 11:4; Jude 3). It is great to leave the NY WT, but if one does not renounce false doctrine and come to know the true Jesus (God vs creature/Arian view), it is in vain in the end (at least you see that salvation is in a person, not loyalty/slavery to an organization Jn. 1:12; Jn. 3:16; Jn. 14:6; Acts 4:12; I Jn. 5:11-13).

    I love the WT pictures. The hot Jesus in the purple robe was always a favorite of mine.

    To your topic though, the whole idea of a messiah kinda falls flat when you realize that adamic sin is a myth along with most of the bible. Just sayin...

    The concept of Adam, sin, Jesus/Messiah is true and vital, but the WT/JW view is flawed and a lie. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Were you a former JW, poopsie? I have never been one, but I have been a follower of Jesus for 30 years. Just because you were burned by false religion does not mean there is not truth that leads to a genuine relationship with God vs slavery in an organization that keeps people from God (modern Pharisees=JWs).

    Here's the thing. I don't feel like I was 'burned' by any deity. I never blamed god for anything and never will. When I realized that the WT was all about control and lying to people to keep that control, I knew that had nothing to do with god whatsoever. But anyone who realizes they've been duped their whole life and goes through the process of figuring that out and deconstructing what they believed to be true and stops because they can't let go of their faith is doing themselves a disservice; in my opinion. How can anyone not continue to ask questions and keep digging through all of the deception that's been practiced by religion since time immemorial once they start down that road?

    Again, false religion is evil, demonic. The WT is a terrible organization with many sincere, deceived victims. Others are knowingly corrupt and deserve the judgment they will get. Just because there is false, harmful religion does not mean there is not true Christianity that sets free. Don't go to Richard Dawkins irrational extreme.

    Religion is demonic. It robs people.

    As long as you're basing your beliefs on the bible, you're deluding yourself. Sorry to be blunt, but that's what I believe. And I'm not a Dawkins disciple. I've read some of his stuff here on this forum but my conclusions are my conclusions and my conclusions existed before I had ever even heard of Dawkins.
