Will there be a Prize for the Person with the Biggest Picker?..
................;-)...OUTLAW
I meant an example that applied to the HUMAN BRAIN and making decisions.
Unless of course you are saying our decisions come out of a double slit!
My point, Terry, was that the human brain is not totally deterministic.
On the very lowest level of action, quantum principles come into play - so we cannot precisely say what exactly it will do under a given circumstance.
I meant an example that applied to the HUMAN BRAIN and making decisions.
Such an (authentic) example does not exist, because we do not understand the human brain that well. However, we do know that neural activity goes down to the quantum level, and that all quantum interactions are probabalistic rather than deterministic.
This, BTW, is one of the reasons that I find the physical "resurrection" of JW theology ridiculous - it would essentially involve the god somehow "remembering" and "recreating" in quantum detail something which is not physically measurable, and therefore no rememberable.
something which is not physically measurable ...
We can't measure such things - not yet, anyway - but I don't see why that would be a problem for the Creator.

Maybe OUTLAW.
A prize for the the biggest picker and one for the best double slit.
OK, send me to Hell. I deserve it.....;-)
but I don't see why that would be a problem for the Creator.
That is what Einstein thought, but he was speaking metaphorically about God.
Einstein's wife ...

Einstein's wife ...
I believe she was already divorced from him when he made the famous "God does not play dice with the universe" statement.
He kept her papers.

He kept her papers.
The statement was not made until after Werner Heisenberg, Erwin Schroedinger, and Neils Bohr had formulated quantum theory - late 20s, early 30s. So her papers would have been nonsequiter.
