I was wondering if there are any comprehensive timelines available, JW or otherwise? I am looking for a diagram that lists the biblical characters and events and the years they were born/died and occurred - all in a summary type format.

There's one in the appendices of my old reference bible, but it's only JW history, not actual scientific history-history.

If you want a reliable, neutral timeline of characters in the bible, you might check out the Net Bible website here: http://bible.org/netbible/index.htm -- I've sometimes found some good objective resources on there that don't cater to any one denomination.

This is 24 pages! from Ministry Ideaz:

This is a 'master file' for on screen viewing:

Have a look at their website for some others.

I used to have a short Word document called 'Chronology' that laid out the JW timeline but I can't find it now.

If anyone has this I'd be keen on a copy. Thanks.

    Here is one to buy:

Might be better detailed than one free on the net. I know the "All Scripture Is Inspired By God" book by the WTS has teh JW timeline in one of it's chapters in the back.

    Have you asked Larsinger?

    OK OK, just kidding!

Bible scholars don't agree on timelines, so you need to look at several and find out their methodologies to see which ones you find credible rather than simplying opting for one that is well written or well laid out.

In addition to the ones mentioned above, Dr. Lloyd Nolan Jones has published a book entitled, "The Chronology of the Old Testament." He dates creation at 4004 BC, similar to Bishop Ussher. If you can't find the book and want to know any of his proposed dates, let me know.
