Good Lord, Nathan - I am getting the idea that in your mindset a person can get away with practically anything - just so long as they are anti-watchtower.

We have to remember to maintain honesty and a certain decorum if we are actually going to help any doubting JWs get free.

The kind of antics Fearon and Danny Hazzard eventually dropped to are a big turn-off to reasonable JWs who are looking for support on the way out.

Nathan, I don't know rick personally

I have nothin' against rick personally

I have no joy in seein' anyones work

being destroyed by a farce, but Rick can't

blame no one but himself for his credibility

bein' in question. He put himself on a platform

where credibility is a key component, his hands

are tied behind his back with out credibility and anyone

who continues to associate with rick will have their

credibility to come into question also, it's what people will percieve as "guilt by

association," that's what the WTS wants, to discredit everyone

James, first of all, there is NO "good lord."

Secondly, I didn't realize that YOU were in charge of the XJW Board of Standards and Practices.

I also didn't realize the degree to which you seem to think YOU play an important part in "getting people out of the WATCHTOWER."

My ideal is freedom - freedom that doesn't exist in Dub-land, and doesn't yet exist in the minds of many XJWs. I've had a bellyful of rejecting former friends because SOMEONE else told me to. I will call both Danny and Rick my friends in public (here) and let anyone who doesn't like it be damned.

    Fair enough?

I think I'll skip the call. Who cares what happened in 1980 in the writing dept at bethel? Also Rick said the interview was with a guy "with ties" to the writing dept. Barbara just cleared up the fact that this Hess guy was not at bethel nor did he write for the WT's writing dept. which is what I initially thought when reading this thread.

When someone current is asked to interview on these calls and they have information pertaining to NOW, then I may listen in. But all the people on them have had nothing to do with the WT for decades. How can they possibly have something to say we would be interested in?

I get much more current information right here on jwn!

Not literally, not any more than there is a Holy Cow. Not even in India. But I think you waste words on a rather obvious expression of emphasis.

Secondly, I didn't realize that YOU were in charge of the XJW Board of Standards and Practices.

I have never claimed to be - but I am the self-proclaimed Thread Topic Police. Be warned.

    Good for you, Lil.l

BTW, Nathan - I did notice that at least I believe we are on the same side as regards the Trump-Racist thread. I would, though, sell any stock I had in Six Screens now.

    Hey James,

there is not a person I know, that has not said somethin' in their lifetime

that could be construed as a racist remark, does that make

them a racist, No. it just make them someone who said somethin'

    dumb. BTTT

Oh, I certainly do not deny that there are a small minority of race-based haters out there. I see far less now than when I grew up in the 50s and 60s. But there will always be idiots who simply hate because another person is different - religiously, politically, ethnic, whatever. Reasonable people do not blindly hate one another just because they are different.

I think that falsely calling someone a "racist" (for purely political reasons) - is in itself a sad and stupid racist statement - just as bad as calling someone the N-word, or calling someone Honky or Raghead...

BTW - you and I are both off topic, and I am the topic police. Now do you believe me, Nathan?
