College Football Rivalries

Not sure if this is the right location for this, but I'm missing College Football, and it won't be starting up for a while!

I thought I'd ask what everyone's favorite College Football rivalry is.

Some of my favorites:

Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma St. - Bedlam

Michigan vs. Minnesota - The Little Brown Jug

Alabama vs. Auburn - The Iron Bowl

Florida vs. Georgia - The world's largest outdoor cocktail party

Michigan vs. Ohio St. - The Game

Oregon vs. Oregon St. - The Civil War

Texas vs. Oklahoma - The Red River Rivalry - during the Texas State Fair :)

Alabama vs. Auburn - The Iron Bowl

The entire state shuts down.

Syl, I've never been to Alabama, but I can imagine!

This year's Iron Bowl should be one of the most anticipated ever, for never before have the two teams met in a game in which the two of them had won the previous 2 National Championships. Throw in the poisoing of the old oak trees at Toomer's Corner by a deranged Tide fan, the ongoing allegations against one Cameron Newton and his dad, and you have the makings of an unbelievable classic.

Gowing up in VA I am used to the UVA-VA TECH Rivalry. I am a Michigan Wolverines fan and when they play the Ohio State BUckeyes it is always an excellent go for broke rivalary.

Yep, Jair, I'm all atwitter with anticipation.

I even coveted Cam for a prospective son-in-law at one time.

He turned 22 on 5-11-11; my little JW daughter turns 22 in June.

The Virginia vs Virginia Tech Commonwealth Cup dates back to 1895!!! Over 115 years of good hard nosed VA football.

My personal favorite game between the Wolverines and Buckeyes was in 2006 when Ohio St. came in #1 at 11-0 and Michigan #2 at 11-0 and Ohio St. held off a relentless push by Michigan and won 42-39. It has been called "The Game of the Century".
