Presbyterians Approve Ordination of Gay People
After 33 years of debate, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has voted to change its constitution and allow openly gay people in same-sex relationships to be ordained as ministers, elders and deacons.
If thier "constitution" isn't the Bible what is it?

If they're approving ordination of gays then they're not following the Bible's condemnation of homosexuality.
So good for them, because the Bible is mythology and no one deserves condemnation for being gay!
Well, although I do not know well, I suppose that there were homosexuals/gay in the Governing Body.
That is, "Greenlees" and "Chitty."
It is not good to shut their eyes to their faults and to criticize other people.

There is nothing un-Biblical about this decision . . . except in the eyes of certain Fundamentalist Christian Extremist groups whose Bible interpretations are based on age-old prejudices and ill-informed bigotry. The same Fundamentalists Extremists who frequently find thier hypocrisy exposed as illustrated above.

Presbyterians have always been on the liberal, logical, non-judgmental end of the spectrum. Bless them for it.
I do not see anything wrong with gay people, even openly gay, acting as priests. Only when they try and impose the gay lifestyle on everyone whether they like it or not do I see a problem--and that is actually not the majority of gay people. It is no one else's business except those who are directly involved.
However, I see a big problem with having active pedophiles, often who silence the victims using threats of disfellowshipping, serving as priests (or hounders). The Catholic church had this problem--you hear less about it these days, and they are at least trying to fix it. But the Washtowel is doing nothing but trying to hide the problem. Usually, the molesting of the child is attached to a hounding call, and the child is threatened with being disfellowshipped and destroyed if they blab it or try to report it to the police. (And not where the child is the one initiating the event, either--the hounder does it by force as part of the hounding call, or threatens the child with everlasting life if they don't consent.) To me, that is far worse than ordaining gay people.
I also think it's about time for women to be ordained into higher positions in churches, as the women see fit.

Can I ask you to clarify what you mean? Do you mean you believe that gay people try to make other people gay, or that you believe they shouldn't talk about being gay? If it's the latter, do you sincerely think the same should apply to heterosexuals?
I'm not being judgmental or trying to pick a fight -- I'm just always fascinated by the concept of gay people "imposing their lifestyle" and can never quite figure out what that means to different people.
