    Edit

When I said "The fact is, in 1919 the WTS was still teaching that Christ's presents started in 1874 and any choosing would have happened in 1877-78."

I meant any choosing (in the WTS way of thinking) would have happened in 1877-78.

I don't believe in any of this dispensationalism.

I'm an amillennialist and believe we are in the so called "millennial" as of 70AD.

But I don't let that stand in the way of my salvation.

Ones belief conserning the end times has nothing, whatsoever, to do with one's salvation unless it gets in the way of ones belief in the gospel.

The WTS and JW's do let their beliefs concerning the end times get in the way.

    That's sad.

The Other Sheep are not the remaing ones, not of the 144,00, but are Gentiles who were to become a part of The Church of God. That is my biggest problem with the WTBTS. That is just an out right fabrication of scripture.

The numbers in the Apocalypse are symbolic and are not to be taken as absolutes. They are composite numbers that represent ideas and are not to be taken with mathematical precision.

Anytime the number 1000 is in the Bible it refers to completeness.

    Example:

Psalms 50:10 says "For every beast of the forest [is] mine, [and] the cattle upon a thousand hills." -KJV

This means all cattle and beasts everywhere. On hill 1001 the beasts and cattle also belong to God. There is no actual 1000 year period to begin or end but a period of completeness. We are in the thousand year reign right now and it started at the death of Christ on the Cross. That is the amillenialists position.

The 144 000 is also a composite number.

The 12 x 12 is 144. The 12 tribes of Israel and the 12 apostles. This number signifies the completeness of people in God's church. When we multiply that by 1000 we get 144000. The 1000 represents the entire of history in which people would come to the church for salvation. Refer to above again. The number stands for completeness and perfection. 12 times 12 is the perfect square.

Also it is wrong to take the 144000 literally and cast off the rest of the verse as not being literal. I'm sorry but the Watchtower does not interpret the scriptures properly.

Why do you want to believe something that is wrong. That is about all I want to say. There are so many errors in your theology that I will leave it up to others to respond.

    Peace

    And what is most interesting about what Jesus said;

He call them Sheep. This was probably years before the Gospel was taken to the Gentiles.

He did not call them goats that he would turn into sheep. he called them sheep.

    Romans 8:29-30

29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

I believe that the bible teaches that there is only one salvation. Salvation for those chosen by God.

    Romans 9:13-18

13 Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” [ e ]

14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses,

“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” [ f ]

16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. 17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” [ g ] 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.

In direct answer to your question: No proof whatsoever. Next question, please.

Other Sheep which are not of this fold... could be aliens on another planet. First off, when talking about "proof"... you can't just use the Bible because where's the "proof" that it's really inspired anyway? Oh, right... because it SAYS so (2 Tim 3:16). nah... that's not proof.

What's the difference between that and me saying, "I am the new messiah" and someone else telling you that I am; when asking him/her for the proof of that you say, "He said he was the Messiah."

So it's really hard to "prove" ANYthing with an unprovable concept! Admit it, there is absolutely no empirical method to prove the validity of the Bible in an historic or prophetic sense. EMPIRICAL method, mind you (look it up if you don't truly know what that means).

As far as the defense "Proper interpretation of scripture"... that again is... it's completey subjective! So many others believe THEIR interpretation is true and there are probably thousands of scriptures they use (oh, I said thousands! but here I wasn't being literal... funny that) to validate their claims.

I can't believe I fell for this. The OP was probably just trying to get someone to post something! Good job! You got me. Now go make a chain letter, too! See how long it takes to get back to you.... That'll be even funner.

The whole question comes down to whether or not one believes that Christ chose the Bible Students as the FDS in 1919.

Of course he chose them. We know this because the GB says so. And they wouldn't lie, because Christ chose them.
