Truth be told, the making of this movie is in jeopardy. There is a lack of money available for the production costs.
Alex is looking for someone, or perhaps a group of people, to stand up and help with the finances. The script is very good, in my opinion. I actually teared up when I read it.
This venture could very well turn out to be quite profitable, especially since there are many ex-JW around who would be interested. On top of that, the story is a classic story of choices and pressures. It would appeal to a wider audience for sure.
Appeals for cash on this forum.....makes me itch.
Itch away.
The reality is that money makes things happen.
The reality is also that production on this movie is stalled.
The reality is that an investment of the right amount would allow this story to be told.
It's a shame that reality makes you itch.
mmm Spam sammies mmm

Skepticism, i.e., looking for evidence before giving away anything valuable to you, should be in the toolbelt of every ex-cultist.
Emotional pleas with no evidence make me itch.
Pleas for cash for some random person who has made no effort to obtain investors in a credible manner makes me itch.
Pleas for cash to tell a less compelling story than ones already told makes me itch.
What evidence do you want? If you have some money to invest, step forward, read the script. If you like it, then fine, if you don't, then shuffle along.
This is no emotional plea. If you wish to be a part of something, and have the money to put into a very high risk situation, then you will be rewarded (spiritually for sure, monetarily perhaps).
You have no clue what you're talking about regarding the story (compelling or not) nor do you have a clue regarding the amount of money that has already been invested from other sources. Perhaps it is best to keep your mouth shut when you are light on actual facts.
Besides, the money has absolutely nothing to do with me, I just know the story. And the reality is that, without further investment the script will be sold and turned into something completely different (as is often the case with scripts).
Do you know what makes me itch? Mediocre thought processes.
Wow, Rebel, did you think you signed up on a forum where you would be told to keep your mouth shut? Maybe you should run your mediocre thoughts past Reader before you open your mouth and make sure he/she approves them. By the way, if you send me $100 I'll record a song that will make you tear up. Not to be emotional.

Hmmm, perhaps a link to the project?
The project does not have an online presence outside of the (local) media stories about the producer.
BTW, I told Rebel to "shut up" under very specific circumstances: when she doesn't have any knowledge of the facts. Perhaps asking questions instead of avering would be a wiser course of action in such a situation.
Also, I totally agree that critical thinking is important. It is the life-blood of free thought. If you want to exercise your skepticism, then by all means, ask questions to the producer. The link is above, he monitors the posts.
A true skeptic would have asked some very salient questions, two of which are: Do you have a financial interest in the movie being made? If not, why not?
I do not have any financial interest in the movie. I think that it would be beneficial to have the story told. I don't invest because I am a student and am busy investing in myself at the moment.
