Sorry about your Dad, mine is still alive, but, my mom died 12 years ago -- sometimes it seems like last week. The pain...really does ease tho' -- over time.

I am so sorry for your loss..I hope he didn't suffer , I heard Bone cancer can be painful..
I too got to know my dad the last few years before his death..he was a great man and gentleman!I loved and admired him greatly..as did anyone that knew him.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, LRG. I'm glad he had your wonderful step-mother to show him those good years at the end, and that you came to know the person inside the tough outer shell.

It is amazing what love and happiness will do to us, we open up and hang a bit looser, allowing others to come in closer. I'm glad you and your father were able to have that.
