According to TSN reporter Bob Mckenzie's twitter feed...the Rome hit on Horton was 28 digital frames from release to hit. 30 frames=1 second. NHL standard for late hit is longer than .5 second.

Haven't seen a Canuck's implode like this since the Hawk's series. Hmmmmm......they escaped that in game 7 overtime.

I want to say thanks to my cuz' from Boston (tho he's not 'here') and my uncles for giving me a love of hockey and the BOSTON BRUINS!

So a 220LB beast in Aaron Rome has exactly 0.5 seconds to somehow get out of the way of Horton, who has all the momentum, and is coming right toward him, and somehow not hit him? Sure, it was a 2 minute interference penalty. Dirty hit? Intent to injure? Head hunting?
No.
Funny thing was how long it took the refs to decide that it was an ejectable penalty, when they had already assessed a standard 2 minute interference call.
