Here's how it works. When your "friends" can't make any headway with you, they report it to the elders. The elders will be asking you for a meeting soon to "see how you're doing" and "encourage" you. Personally, I rebuffed all attempts to get into my business and they finally left me alone...for now.

Anything that you tell them will also be used by the requester to reaffirm their beliefs. "oh you don't come because you don't want to? or your job has you busy?" Men will be lovers of themselves rather than lovers of god. I'm considering, the next time a dub starts in with me as to why this or that, just not saying anything and look at them like we've been through this before. Maybe if the room is quiet instead of me rebuttaling their asinine statement, they'll actually pause and say, "did I really say something that dumb?" Couldn't hurt right?
If on my journey I should encounter god, then god will be cut.
