Definitely. As Gayle mentioned Ex-Scientologist's in the last year have been in the news a lot exposing the abuses and errors of Scientology . A huge article came out in the " New Yorker " magazine interviewing a big time Hollywood producer who had exited the cult and he spilled the beans to the interviewer in that article. It's only a matter of time before more and more ex-JW's will come out with even MORE books exposing the WT society. And that's a good thing because secret societies or cults like the JW's and Scientologists try desperately to control any negative information about them from coming out in the media. But with the Internet there is no way they can stop the free flow of information. The dam has bust and the water is flowing down the canyon. It's about time - is all I can say
Mormons are criticized for their beliefs by those who leave. I think we are more aware of JW apostates because of who we are. But Mormon's have apostates too. I think their reaction to Bill Mahr and his film crew when filming REligulous were the actions of a group that is used to being depicted badly. I have a lot of family who are mormon. I also have a bit of an obsession with Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (Polygamists), those who have escaped from their ranks are bitter opponents re: the cult mindset, the information control, the abuse, the apocalyptic view, and the isolationism.
JW's aren't as unique as they like to think they are.
Yes.
There is nothing special about the WT, including that.
