Jean-Luc Picard. (The real one...yes, of COURSE he's real!)

My grandfather Albert Dow Mauldin. This man was born to a poor farming family in rural Oklahoma in 1930, a rather inauspicious time to be a poor country boy from Oklahoma. He fathered the greatest mother a guy's ever had in 1955, my sweet crapola.
In the early 60's he suffered a massive injury in the oilfields of Oklahoma that cost him his left arm and left him scarred in several different places. This man never complained and he never felt sorry for himself and most importantly he loved without condition. He was very self deprecating and laughed with people and not at them.
To me Bert Mauldin was the very essence of what a Man, Father, and Husband should be and he was my PaPaw and my Hero and I love and miss him very much.
