The shot on the home page is the North West Arm in Halifax, I can see it from my window. :)

Seems like a nice place. I remember going there on a family trip back in the 70's. Did the whole Cape Breton thing. Halifax must've changed a lot since then.

It has changed, badseed. The suburbs have exploded. One thing we have done right is keep the tall buildings to a minimum, so that the waterfront is still accessible. Even so, the developers are slowly winning the fight .... *sigh*
We still have a lot of country, though. Halifax and Sydney are the only places with a sizeable population. I haven't been to Cape Breton for awhile, but it's still forests and mountains, and of course the Cabot Trail, being in a National Park, remains pristine.

Developpers know how to ruin a good place but it happens everywhere. I thought Cape Breton was nice but I wouldn't want to stay there. To remote. Life must be quiet there in the winter..lol.
I remember Halifax being a music center, kind of a miniature New Orleans, is it still like that. I remember seeing this blues guy (Mason..I think), I had a few recordings of him. I think he's dead now and when I saw him in Campbellton he was pretty much at the tail end of his career (and life). Wish I could've heard him earlier, good guitar player. I always wondered why he wasn't known better.
