tec: Well thanks...I'm a Green Day fan, and that's where I got the name. Suits me.

And the limit on posts makes sense, thanks for explaining it to me.

VampireDCLXV: I do get a bit sick at times when dealing with JWs, and quite depressed too! And I do plan on getting out soon. I'll try not to wait too long.

I just signed up for Gravatar. Hope it works!

factfinder: I'm still trying to find the courage and the right way to leave. Good for you for getting out. I hope I can too.

godrulz: Frankly, I'm not sure that I want to be in ANY religion, but I'm still "looking". Not a fan of the Bible now to be honest...

jamiebowers: Thank you... I can't wait to tell it!

sizemik: So am I, thanks! It's a very cool site.

    cyberjesus:

thetrueone: Wow...10 years! I hadn't realized it was so old. I'll have a lot to read!

    Welcome CE!

I am assuming that you are not a JW but rather an "interested one" or unbaptized born in...either status will make leaving a much easier proposition than if you are a baptized member. I look forward to hearing more about your situation...you will find this a very helpful place to discuss ideas and hear a wide variety of viewpoints.

tenyearsafter: Well actually I am babtized. I was raised in "the Truth". I can see how you'd get the idea that I wasn't though. But thanks for the welcome.

It's so nice of you all to welcome me so quickly and be so helpful. I appreciate it.

If you haven't read Ray Franz's Crisis of Conscience, I would strongly recommend you do so. It is wonderfully well balanced and gives an insight to the workings of the WTS that only a former member of the Governing Body could provide. It is a true eye opener, and often makes the process of leaving an easier decision to follow through on.

Being baptized (with family still in and active I assume) makes leaving a bit more complicated, but many on this board have successfully "faded" without losing everything...I am sure they will be a valuable resource for you. Best of luck to you as you begin the journey to freedom! I look forward to hearing your "story".

Thank you, Resistance is Futile. I think I have been to that site, a few times, but I don't remember for sure. Is it a good site?

    lamallcool, Thanks.

And, tenyearsafter, I actually read a few excerpts from the book online, but never read it completely. It does sound good though.

And yes, I have family still active. I think that this site will help build up more confidence in leaving. And thank you!

Hi there Chemical Emotions, I share your view of the Bible: Anyone who believes the Bible has a much too high tolerance for genocidal maniacs and much too low threshold for believing ancient monster stories. Hope your time here is a fulfilling one for you.
