Does anyone else suffer from this disorder? I hope that someday, I will be a part of this thing that you call society but presently, I don't feel like I am a social person and it's driving me crazy. There's just too much anxiety and too much stress, when I try to socialize with the others and I can't control my feeling. This is really a boring way of life. It's too hard to find a job too, so I'm still very dependant of my family.

Black holes are where God divided by zero.

    So, that's how it's called...
I suffer from it too, but I was not always like that.
It came little by little after I moved to the US from Europe...

Nicolas - lots of people have social phobia, about 15 million Americans. It is treatable without a lifetime committment to therapy. Here's a link to a website you might find informative:

There are a lot of websites with information, some better than others.

    Hope this helps!

Halfling, I'm no doctor but I've seen a hundred new starters in the truth and they're always smiling and full of energy just like they found purpose in life, but it doesn't last. My life in the truth was actually the source of my depression and when I left, it was like having a great black cloud taken away from my head for the first time.

Fear is a very powerfull thing, and should not be the driving force in controlling your life or making you join a religion. You should join a religion if you believe it is the truth and it is right for you.

It doesn't matter how hard you try, or how much you do, there will always be the suggestion that maybe you could do more. For instance: are you a publisher, well maybe you should get a bible study. Ok, good, you got a few bible studies, now could you get them to the meetings. You're a good publisher, maybe you could pioneer. You make pioneer, then if you are good at it, could you special pioneer? It's a treadmill that never stops, and if you stop, they will think there is something wrong w you. Meanwhile your selfesteem plummets. You feel guilty because you wonder if it's enough. Guilt leads to depression, health problems etc. All the activities, plus trying to make a living leads to fatigue, loss of joy of life etc. But, if you want to try it, by all means, do.

No one has all the answers halfling. Even the witnesses keep changing their version of the "truth" every few years.
