O Canada. Good thread Syl....I do love living in this vast country. Like Vamp and Outlaw I live in British Columbia...on the west coast with great views of the Pacific. Grew up in the far north but have been here for about 10 years and don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

A pic of the type of scenery from my neck of the woods...

    Yeah Snowbird,

I watched a Michael Moore movie! It was really funny. I think it was one of John Candy's last movies...

In all seriousness, I had the pleasure of going to Brittish Columbia and Calgary/Banff in the 1990s. One of the prettiest places I have ever seen. I hiked around the Eisenhower Tower in Alberta. Felt like a mountain goat. Also hiked to some back countr lakes. Didn't run into a bear, but saw the prints!!

    Syl:

It's the prairies and mountains that I find most fascinating.

I am originally from the prairies. When the wind blows through a wheat field, it looks like waves on the ocean. And a field of lavendar colored flax blossoms or bright yellow mustard field, is truly beautiful.

    Canada Day

    Shamus,

    It's different here in Quebec.

In Quebec, Canada Day signals the burning of the beaver celebration.

Ity helps define us as a nation.

I've lived in Canada for 5 months now and absolutely love it. I'll eventually become a permanent resident and maybe even a citizen. Will finish my work career here and after that who knows what. Canadians are fantastic people, however they tend to just walk out in front of you while you are driving. I hope they look first when visiting the States.
