Kobe should ask the doctors to split the platelets in half and then glue them back together again after the transfusion. That way you don't take in components, just fractions.
Lakers Kobe Bryant -- blood procedure puts him at DF risk?

It would be acceptable (or a 'conscientious decision') since the blood doesn't seem to be stored outside the body. It's very similar to a cell-saver from what I read so that is acceptable. Off course you won't see that in the widely circulated Blotchtower but only when you really, really need it (aka you are almost dying and called the elders) and have not denied it based on your own 'knowledge' of Blotchtower Policy (BP) on Major Blood Spills.

Ditto, never knew Kobe was a JW.
Ever wonder how rumors start? This is exhibit A.
For the next 10 years, these posters and others who didn't actually read the opening post, will tell everyone they know "Hey, know what I just heard? Kobe is a JW!"

It would probably depend greatly on one's political clout, whether from personal donations to Watchtower or familial ties with someone in a high position. An arbitrary decision that resulted in a celebrity losing his life would probably make news, as well.

You cannot win back to back world championships and not pass the ball to your teamates. Whoever makes those comments is living in 2006 when that was true of him, but since 2007-2008 Kobe doesnt play like Iverson anymore. I mean I know people hate Kobe, but come on, you cant be serious with that one.

You cant be serious with that post. Obviously what I said was meant as a joke. Why be so defensive? Good heavens.

He would be subject to a JC since the PRP proceedure requires that he donate a unit of his blood before the proceedure so that it can be "spun" down to isolate and concentrate the platlets from the whole blood. He might be ok under the fraction rule, but he is toast for donating autologous blood!!
I think he needs to be shunned immediately...

I think, given his paycheck power, the watchtower would look the other way around like Micheal Jackson.
