The JW's made up the Archangel doctrine in the same mode that they criticize the "made up doctrine" of the Trinity.

Mrs Punk is always slagging off the Trinity. I am bored with the foolishness of the washtowel propaganda. They just want to be different like all the other cults do.

We had this real weird conversation about the 'organization' and how I have to obey the rules of my new 'organization' (Baptist Church).

I just couldn't get thru to her that I don't have a relationship with God THRU' a man made organization but a direct relationship. If I disagree with an article of faith of the Baptists...well that's OK. It's no biggie.

She just couldn't get it! Probably never will....or want to. she has too much family she'd lose if she followed me in my 'mentally diseased' 'apostasy'!

You are right PON, I don't think she will ever get the whole "personal relationship" with Christ, simply because as a JW she doesn't believe in it.

If "meek" is another way of saying those who respect the rights and free will of others, in other words, "Love Thy Neighbor", then the meek will indeed inherit the earth.

You've got to think of yourself as an eternal spirit temporarily inhabiting this particular body, otherwise nothing makes sense. When you die, you inherit the Multiverse. You can come back here if you want, or go to some other planet in need of Love.

    Alright, back to reality guys.

History has shown us that is not the meek who inherit the Earth, but the ruthless and powerful ones that do.

    Sure about that?

What has happened, consistently, to every empire through out history?

    They have fallen.

MLK Jr and Ghandi would be two to disgare with your point also.

The great changes that are far reaching and far lasting have been done by "the meek", not the "ruthless and powerful".

If that was the case, well...what a world we woudl truly live in !

The horrors and attrocites would be horrendous beyond imagination.

Oh really? Let's recall some of those attrocities. The USA for example, how did they get all this land? Oh yeah by almost wiping out all of the Native Americans for their land. IMO it was the Native Americans who were "meek". Look what happened to them.

But I'm sure you can give me a counter example.

"When you die, you inherit the Multiverse."

Sounds a bit like Multivitamin but outside of the bottle.

Nope, you're example will do just fine.

It makes your case - power = might makes right and it makes my case too - That view leads to horrics acts.

The issue is, will those that promote love and peace and tolerance and accepteance eventually win out.

For your sake and mine, Lets hope I am right and you are wrong.

Might makes right is NOT the way you want to live your life, is it?

I would like to live in a world where there is love, peace, and tolerance. And I admire the people who promote it.

But on this issue, I'm a bit of a pessamist. Human nature is not going to change anytime soon. So what I'm saying is, whoever wrote this passage in the Bible was an idealist just like every other idealist that tried to change the world.

The ruthless and powerful outnumber the meek.
