Jehovah's Witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any religious tradition. Only 37% of all those who say they were raised as Jehovah's Witnesses still identify themselves as Jehovah's Witnesses.

discreetslave,,thank you,,I am so glad so many youths are leaving the WTS,, I was older but always have been very grateful for "breaking away" since the mid-80s for an endless list of reasons.

Yes, I've been noticing this trend, even at the KH my parents currently drag me to. Quite a few of the people who were closest to my age have left. There's one JW couple who has 10 children and none of them are active JWs (if they even got baptized to begin with.)
Once I get a better-paying job, I'll be out too!

Thank God for the internet! Opening the eyes of the youth to the truths behind the cult...long may it continue and spread like wildfire!

I know Why The Caged Bird Sings By Maya Angelou
The free bird leaps
on the back of the win
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wings
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.
But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.
The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and is tune is heard
on the distant hillfor the caged bird
sings of freedom
The free bird thinks of another breeze
an the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.
But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing
The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom. -

I would be very interested in seeing a link to the source of that statistic...(yes, I can easily believe it, but would like to know where it came from)

Mad Sweeney
It came from Pew Research Poll a few years ago. I'll try to find the link and post it.
Got it.
