The Listener: I just think it's funny to see the dubs look so cultlike. they remind me more and more of scientogists. seriously, when we dressed up and went door knocking at least some people respected us for our dedication even if they didn't listen to our message. Shopping mall kiosks? Desperation.
I second that comment. I used to feel that there was dignity in the way the JW message was presented. We used to be bold - on the front lines - out there in the trenches. We were ready to advertise the message and defend it. We worked, we sweated, we froze, we got tired, we were shouted at (and sometimes almost shot).
That mall kiosk does make them look cultlike. It seems to trivialize and cheapen them. JWs ain't what they used to be. They now advertise cute cartoon characters, whereas, formerly they would have shown depictions of armageddon. It used to be that JWs invited questions and debates; they now run from such.
I wish they'd put those silly kiosks up everywhere. If they did, I believe people would begin to take them less seriously than they already do.
