  Was informed last night by my son that his gran has passed away.

  Not being privy to much information i cant say what from exactly, other than being told 'her body has stopped making blood'.

  the closest thing i found in google was the aplastic anemia. I would surmise something similar... my wife works in aged care and has cared for oldies with this sort of thing and generally they need a blood transfusion every 3 weeks or so. I guess that being the only treatment, it's a death sentance for Jw's.

  I'm sorry for your loss, Aussie. Don't really 'know' you, but I can feel the sadness that you lost this woman who always treated you well. That can be a rare thing to find in a MIL. It's one of the hardest things ... being left out of the loop during family crises.

  Sounds like your daughter has a good head on her shoulders, and hopefully son will start thinking with the big head sooner rather than later.

  while not overly sad about it... been 12 years since MIL and i spoke (me being d/f and all) she was ok to me.

  I would go to the funeral but i think the ex wife would make a scene, so i'll stay away.
