    I would not refer people to JW facts b/c they will believe the letter is a forgery. What I would suggest is telephoning the UN myself, get the appropriate department and make certain that they will confirm that the WT is an ngo. If they will do so, have the Witness call the UN himself so he can hear someone answer, "United Nations,........."

    I loved the UN growing up and kept going on tours with my family. My dream was to be a female tour guide. They were so attractive and so not American. An adult friend worked for the Council for Namibia before independence as an international civil servant. He was an American Jew and had some interesting experiences. When Pres. Reagan was shot, professionals stood on their desks and applauded and cheered.

    I had to keep my wish a secret. Well, even if I were not a Witness, foreign languages are not my forte. This do as I say, not as I do and lying has me furious.

    Whenever I toured or visited my friend and saw some private places, I never saw any beasts roaming around or any weird number cbominations.

    I have seen so many of your posts where I wonder if you are totally drunk when you post. For a self-proclaimed lawyer you sure do wander all over the place. The longer your posts, the less they sound sane.

    Band on the run...the UN won't confirm that WTS are an NGO because they cancelled their membership. The only thing they could confirm is that they were members at some stage.

    So.....I've just got up had brekky and off to work for the day........

    ............what's the difference between being an NGO and being referred to as having joined? Isn't being an NGO ultimately the same as joining the UN?

    Sorry to sound dense but I was not allowed a proper education so it takes time for stuff to sink in.............I need 'simplified'.....................oh, I'll stop there!

    JWs often deny controversial errors of the WTS, even if they are stated by the literature.. Because they don't read it themselves..

    @illuminator = they don't read it themselves..

    Yeah, I remember trying to keep up with the literal-trash and it was so dull....so desparately dull, dull, deadly dull. No wonder I couldn't be bothered to read it. I don't know how 'householders' could cope with the gammy-zines.

    There'd be an article that I thought would be interesting but the FD$ sucked all the life out of it.

    I wonder if it's the hypnotic language trying to numb the brain whilst injecting WTB$ propaganda.

    So! Is being an NGO different to joining the UN? Isn't being an NGO the same as joining? Where am I going wrong here?

    punkofnice.. you have to compare them to what other religions did.. many of them are NGO's, and the WTS condemns them for it. Only the vatican has really 'joined' the UN in the sense that they have a special seat.

    @illuminator - Ah. Yup! The penny just dropped! Thanks. Special seat!

    I have a special seat I'd like all members of the GB to sit in. It's an electric chair!
