Letter Regarding Discussing Scriptural Matters With Disfellowshipped Ones

The ENTIRE disfellowshipping process the WTS uses has absolutely NO scriptural foundation. Where are its star chamber proceedings outlined in the Bible? Where are we told to not say a greeting to anyone other than a real apostate? That is the thrust of 2 John 9-11. Where is it commanded that a person should be shunned even if he attends the meetings? And far from remaining in stoic silence when a sinner repents, Jesus indicated there should be expressions of great rejoicing. That is clearly seen in the parable of the Prodigal Son.

Those who defend WTS teaching on disfellowshipping and shunning are perpetuating a gross perversion of the Scriptures and a great injustice besides. Those who serve on judicial committees are doing the same. How many lives have been ruined by this cult's twisting of the Scriptures in this regard? As for the letter which Bangalore shared with us, I agree with punkofnice that it is simply a brushoff from an organization too arrogant to seriously examine its policies and the effects they have on others.

    Phoenician woman/daughter

(Matthew 15:21-28) 21 Leaving there, Jesus now withdrew into the parts of Tyre and Si´don. 22 And, look! a Phoe?ni´cian woman from those regions came out and cried aloud, saying: "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David. My daughter is badly demonized." 23 But he did not say a word in answer to her. So his disciples came up and began to request him: "Send her away; because she keeps crying out after us." 24 In answer he said: "I was not sent forth to any but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." 25 When the woman came she began doing obeisance to him, saying: "Lord, help me!" 26 In answer he said: "It is not right to take the bread of the children and throw it to little dogs." 27 She said: "Yes, Lord; but really the little dogs do eat of the crumbs falling from the table of their masters." 28 Then Jesus said in reply to her: "O woman, great is your faith; let it happen to you as you wish." And her daughter was healed from that hour on.

(Matthew 8:5-13) 5 When he entered into Ca?per´na?um, an army officer came to him, entreating him 6 and saying: "Sir, my manservant is laid up in the house with paralysis, being terribly tormented." 7 He said to him: "When I get there I will cure him." 8 In reply the army officer said: "Sir, I am not a fit man for you to enter under my roof, but just say the word and my manservant will be healed. 9 For I too am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me, and I say to this one, ‘Be on your way!’ and he is on his way, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does it." 10 Hearing that, Jesus became amazed and said to those following him: "I tell YOU the truth, With no one in Israel have I found so great a faith. 11 But I tell YOU that many from eastern parts and western parts will come and recline at the table with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens; 12 whereas the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the darkness outside. There is where [their] weeping and the gnashing of [their] teeth will be." 13 Then Jesus said to the army officer: "Go. Just as it has been your faith, so let it come to pass for you." And the manservant was healed in that hour.

or the woman that washed his feet with her hair

(Luke 7:36-50) 36 Now a certain one of the Pharisees kept asking him to dine with him. Accordingly he entered into the house of the Pharisee and reclined at the table. 37 And, look! a woman who was known in the city to be a sinner learned that he was reclining at a meal in the house of the Pharisee, and she brought an alabaster case of perfumed oil, 38 and, taking a position behind at his feet, she wept and started to wet his feet with her tears and she would wipe them off with the hair of her head. Also, she tenderly kissed his feet and greased them with the perfumed oil. 39 At the sight the Pharisee that invited him said within himself: "This man, if he were a prophet, would know who and what kind of woman it is that is touching him, that she is a sinner." 40 But in reply Jesus said to him: "Simon, I have something to say to you." He said: "Teacher, say it!" 41 "Two men were debtors to a certain lender; the one was in debt for five hundred de?nar´i?i, but the other for fifty. 42 When they did not have anything with which to pay back, he freely forgave them both. Therefore, which of them will love him the more?" 43 In answer Simon said: "I suppose it is the one to whom he freely forgave the more." He said to him: "You judged correctly." 44 With that he turned to the woman and said to Simon: "Do you behold this woman? I entered into your house; you gave me no water for my feet. But this woman wet my feet with her tears and wiped them off with her hair. 45 You gave me no kiss; but this woman, from the hour that I came in, did not leave off tenderly kissing my feet. 46 You did not grease my head with oil; but this woman greased my feet with perfumed oil. 47 By virtue of this, I tell you, her sins, many though they are, are forgiven, because she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little." 48 Then he said to her: "Your sins are forgiven." 49 At this those reclining at the table with him started to say within themselves: "Who is this man who even forgives sins?" 50 But he said to the woman: "Your faith has saved you; go your way in peace."

Does anyone have a copy of a current WTBTS index that is mentioned in the letter? That could be a useful document to look-up old WTBTS false and flipping-flopping doctrines.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,
