  The CO is at my husbands hall this week so I tied in to the meeting he was going on and on about how there are 140 elders in the circuit and only 80 something MS's. Of the elders 25 are over 75 years old. Of the MS's it was about 20 are over 75 years old. His point was that the servants are getting old.

  He then said that there should be double the MSthat there are elders so the circuit should have 280 MS's not the 80 something we have.
  He then went on and on and on trying to quit everyone into being a MS.

  To me it is just telling how the religion is losing people who want to be elders. MS's get dumped on that is why no one in their right mind would want to be one every CO knows that.

  The CO then went on to actually name elders who are almost 100 years old and then some who truly for a lack of a better have word brown noised the CO's as examples for us to follow. I was like Oh please these people never have put themselves out pioneering or doing anything that did not make a name for themselves.

  He is now going on and on about the news and how this financial market shows that we are so very, very, very close to the end. And then how we should never rush through our study of the WT as we should always find something new in everything we read from the FS. And he just mentioned that we should dig in the older publications in our studying for the meetings, he is impressed he just said when someone mentions something from say a WT from the late 60's. So what how about 1968 Awake on young people needing to face the fact that they will not get old in this system of things, I wonder if I can mention that one.

  OK my dryer just went off so I am turning the phone off as I am starting to get sick.

  funny. he mentioned the % that are 75+ i wonder how many are 50+. that is what they're really scared about. hence one more thing to get them manic about and spewing the world must end sooooo soon. and then you factor in the # of total incompetents. you're left with a really low number of competent shepherds now. with no prospect of more coming. this is a definite sign of the end. or maybe it's just a sign that people are evolving , and aren't so easily duped anymore?

  If I knew then what I know now about how WTS would throw elders under the bus in lawsuits, not standing behind them when all they were doing was following orders, I would never ever ever have been an elder (or an MS).

  I imagine most men simply don't want the "titles" and the responsibilities.

  ...until the financial market recovers (even if it takes decades) then something else will show that we are very very very close. I thought the volcanoe eruption in Iceland, all the hurricanes of the last decade, the tsunami of 2004, Sept. 11 of 2000, the United Nations Year of Peace in 1984, wars, pestilence, famine, China's one-child law, the collapse of the Soviet Union, Reaganomics, electing a black man to President of the U.S., etc. etc. were all the proof they needed at the time to show how we are a "whisper" away. HA HA.

  The last elder school I went to a year ago brought out the number of elders and M.S. in the U.S. The numbers are almost half of what they were 20 years ago. The M.S. pool is getting smaller and smaller with no end in site. Before I left I talk to couple of brothers why they are not reaching out. The reason is they see how burden down the M.S. and elders are and they don't want any part of it. IF this continues the WT will have to go back to one congregation servant to take care of things. Everytime the elders get a letter from the WT and that is about 2 or 4 or them a month. At the end of the letter it always states we don't want to burden you further but....you fill in the rest. At the end these letters would just sicken me. It is no wonder nobody wants to be a M.S. anymore. Totally ADD

  There are very very few "brothers" not already appointed who are inclined to "reach out". The strain is beginning to show in some areas. In about 10-20 years it's going to be a major headache for the WTS.

  I think we should encourage as many elders and MS we know to strengthen their faith in the Org by reading "The Finished Mystery" which was THE book of the Watchtower during the time period Jesus chose them to be the FDS. I've sent the .pdf of the book to a bunch of people. Maybe it will do some good.

  The bigger issue is that the majority of those aren't smart enough to think on their own feet (a definite "no-no" in WT Land), thus crappy public talks, faulty decision making which runs up costs on building projects, puts Org as risk in some decisions, plus not able to make a living, let alone dump a lot of money into their religion -- of course it only takes 7,000,000 "widow's mites"

  Fine. Here are my qualifications:

  **I post on apostate discussion boards, and read other posts. Including a couple (Freeminds is one) I subscribe to e-mails to.

  **I trust in silver, not Jehovah. True, silver cannot totally save me. But it can save the value of my wealth, when Jehovah doesn't.

  **I have Christmas decorations up all summer. And Christmas music--more than 700 songs' worth.

  **I dabble in porn from time to time, on purpose.

  **I subscribe to a few "spiritists". These include a numerology report, chakra healing, and the odd report of what is coming in 2012. While I don't seriously believe all of them, I do view occasional videos about the coming spiritual cleansing on December 21, 2012 (even though I don't believe anything will happen out of the ordinary then, it is still entertainment).

  **I listen to "bad" songs. Many of them include heavy metal and rap, including gun shots and swearing. While I will not actually do the drugs, I find it entertaining to listen to rap that glorifies drug use.

  **I refuse to get rid of my Ouija board.

  **I don't take the Bible literally. I don't even believe Jehovah is anything more than an infinitely malicious Baghead that promises people good, extorts much out of them, and delivers evil. Most of the Bible is a scam.

  **I refuse to believe that the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger is God's sole channel. Never mind the validity of the Bible. They claim to abide by the Bible--to have the monopoly on it. Then they blatantly contradict it, and expect witlesses to abide by the bad doctrines.

  **I believe "a generation" refers to those around when Jesus spoke those words, and the end referred to happened in AD70.

  **I don't see any sense in doing field circus. You waste more time and money doing that, plus there are better ways to get the message through.

  **I believe that, if most common people refuse the message and are belligerent, there is something wrong with the message. Yes, the Establishment can and does make many average people refuse to believe the truth. But, if a message is sound, people will be drawn to it.

  **And I refuse to continually go to meetings that urge people to do the same thing, using the same techniques that have failed during the last 140 years.

  @DOC-funny you mention crappy public talks... I went to to hear the CO's Sunday talk at one of the congregations in my area a couple years ago... I went purely because I enjoy good public speakers... This guy was horrible... bumbling over his words... monotone... lack of conviction... I couldn't believe it... 90% of the elders I heard give talks when I was a kid were better than him...

  so just for shits and giggles I went to hear the Sunday talk the next weekend from the PO of the congregation for a comparison... oh my god it was horrible... when he asked me if I enjoyed the talk after the meeting I told him to be honest it failed to keep my attention and then I asked him if he'd ever thought about taking speech classes @ the community college... ah the look of shock... but it soon faded into that goofy condescending smile and nod that so many elders are good at... then he shook my hand and told me that maybe he'd consider it.... lol

  It really is sad in a way... the one thing they used to be really good at has gone down the drain as well.... it seems the pool of intelligent well spoken people they have to choose from has gotten very small... what a difference 12 years makes....

  @WTwizard- I asked you this in another thread but forgot which one and not sure if you saw it... can you point me to the clause that states witnesses shouldn't invest in silver... Thanks!
