My wife was a whole lot happier and fitter and generally healthier before she returned to the wt. -

PZ. Certainly you have described the situation perfectly. -

I love how witnesses say that those who leave become extremely unhappy. In fact, when I first left, I was a bit worried that my depression might get worst (which would of been hard).
funny how I now have no depression and feel the best I've ever felt.

Well said , JW GoneBad ,
Tell a lie long enough , often enough , continually , ....eventually people will believe it , .and act upon it.
Stalin`s Russia and German Nazism are prime examples of that fact.

I think it's a pretence of happiness ie a delusion or veneer of happiness, meanwhile a cauldron of turmoil lurks beneath that...yes THAT smile. In my personal experience most friends I had who. are now or were JWs were not happy, this evident by subsequent events which became apparent.

Further to my comment above and the happy happy jw.They are not happy people at all. Get a group together and its all doom and gloom.
We go out for dinner at my wifes suggestion. I see families many and groups of young people gathered and happily noisy. Little ones exploring the menus . i hear all the staccato conversation. and i miss it. We have grown so apart. Then my partner in life has a high point to mention.. that elder soandso is so ill and his wife is struggling with .......
the food was terrific.

"Happy"...
...yet another word the WTS has redefined.

From my experience: No! Absolutely not, they seem much happier on my workplace than in my cong. I also know a few people with mental issues in the cong. -

If by "happy" you mean: frustrated, sad and depressed, then yes! Extremely happy!
