My 80+ parents with four bad hips and two bad hearts between them will be so thrilled to be invited. Just another reason for them to believe "We are just a whisper away from the nu system" and "The GB are as sharp as a two edged sword always lovingly providing us with spiritual food"

My father will sit all day (and shake from his recent stroke) and get teary eyed at all the applauding. They will come home and be horribly depressed because they raised five children that have no appreciation for this "BEAUTIFUL" organization.

They had on in Sept of 2001, just days after the 9-11 attacks. Ours was held at Pontiac Michigan.
WHAT A JOKE! They were practically frisking us at the door for recording devices and cameras. It was built up for weeks with special invitations to only certain congregations, elders, etc. We went, we sit, and THERE WAS PRECISELY ZERO 'NEW INFORMATION', which is what they said it would be.
It was interesting though, that the police were on top of the dome with rifles and binoculars, since the entire nation was expecting further terrorist activity. But that was the most memorable part of the whole goddammed thing.

Jeff - we almost went to that assembly! We heard the same story. They also said it was extremely cold in the stadium.

Just received word that some of the Pacific Northwest is also being 100% snubbed with this Zone Visit.

I really don't get this. They should at least have a couple of West Coast venues for the UBER, UBER, top-notch JW achievers.

What good is accomplished by telling entire sections of the country "Hey, we're having a party and NONE OF YOU are invited"?

At least by inviting the Elders, long-time pioneers, etc. you can stir up a bit of envy and some people might be incited to try harder so that maybe one day they too can be part of the inner sphincter.

I remember that they had one of these “Adventist Sweat Lodges” in Long Beach, California about ten years ago. It was reserved only for those in Full Time Service, Elders, and their immediate families. I remember how hurt many of us were when this was announced at the Service Meeting, due to being left out.

I was asked to close the meeting with prayer that night. In my prayer, I told Jehovah that many of us were disappointed that we couldn’t attend, but that we would gratefully anticipate whatever spiritual food he had in store for us later. But, something tells me he wasn’t listening that night; or at least he was preoccupied with really important matters, like making sure Carey Barber didn’t fall out of his wheelchair.

I wonder sometimes what Jehovah is trying to say when people such as old widows who have been serving faithfully for decades get left out of these events because they aren’t married to an Elder or they can’t Pioneer. I wonder what happened to that Jehovah who used a lowly prostitute to smuggle his servants out of Jericho, or who used a simple tent-maker to write most of the New Testament. Maybe now that Ted Jaracz has died and gone to heaven, he is now running the show, and Jehovah is shining his shoes.

Maybe now that Ted Jaracz has died and gone to heaven, he is now running the show, and Jehovah is shining his shoes.

It's possible that hasn't happened, but it would have been Ted's expectation.

    Dear Brothers and Sisters,

The governing body has converted to pastafarianism. You will find a free pasta strainer under your chair. Please put it on your head so we can pray for guidance from the flying spaghetti monster.

My oldest sister tells me that our sister ,she is in between the two of us in age, has been invited to the A.G.M in Noo York.

What can be the point of this ? She is an aged single sister from Ireland (not born there, but "served" there for over three decades) who has spent over forty years in Full Time Pio. stuff, most of those years as a Special Pioneer.

It can only be to make her feel special and appreciated, and I am thankfull for that happening, it is the only good thing the W.T has done for he, or will do for her. I guess some kindly C.O or D.O thought she deserved some recognition.

She will serve the Publishing Company until she dies, she gave up the chance of marriage and a family for them, they owe her something, this empty offering is the best the pathetic lot can do, a "worldly" Publishing Company would at least have given her a Gold Watch, I bet she has to fund the visit herself too.

    Dear Brothers in Brooklyn,

With all the boundlessly breathless excitement generated by anticipation of these special meetings, will the incidence of LBL (light bladder leakage) among dedicated brothers and sisters increase? Will the senior brothers at Patterson provide assistance to those dedicated brothers and sisters in attendance who over-perspire and have difficulty breathing due to the happifying excitement? It's all very well providing for our special spiritual needs, but who's going to dry clean and fumigate the assembly halls afterwards? I'm sure I'm not alone in prefering that my spiritual food be served in more calmly santized settings...or am i missing something?

Signed: Yours in the Service of Jehovah.
