Your child is very fortunate. You will instill your child to think and develop their personal conscience. You will be able to provide freedom of mind and heart for your child.

I, too, went through my 're-evaulation' because of motherhood. I reflected back on my childhood and realized some things had to be different/better for my children. I realized most of it had to do with the WTS upbringing. I felt I had to figure it out; I would have to answer to my children some day. I am glad I did and my 5 grown children thank me for it all the time.

Welcome. Your story is very similar to mine. Having children made me feel more accountable for my decisions. I couldn't just go alone, ignoring my doubts and concerns. Two very important lives were in my keeping. How could I not tell them that I had come to the conclusion that the Bible's ban on blood has nothing to do with blood transfusions. And so many other things...

    Wishing you the best.

"The only result I will not accept is losing my wife and children.
I won't leave her in a burning building because she doesn’t realize
it is on fire. I would have little influence from the outside. Im
unsure what course I will take but I know it will take some time,
because the roots are very deep , and there are few things more
    powerful than familial approval."

C.O.B.E, Very, VERY well said; thanks, I can certainly relate. Except that I've already "stepped down" as an elder, I'm wearing precisely the same shoes.

This post is from a year ago and thankfully my wife allowed herself to think. We havent been in 6 months and will never go again.

I'm working on the wifey as we speak. I am pretty sure her only hang up that we can't overcome, is the loss of friends and family. It actually harder than the doctrine.

@problem-It sounds like she is gonna make it my friend, I think your patience will pay off. Its very tough. It was and still is for my wife. We are not Df'd but everyone knows we quit on purpose. Now nobody calls except the elders.

I seem to remember reading that you have little ones. That may really help her gain the courage to quit the WT drug. Thinking about our kids future is what made both of us put the magazine down. The WT put us in a spell that made life easy, it was a cop-out. All we had to do was survive between meetings. A connect-the-dot life. No decisions, no right and wrong, just show up.

But my opinion is that the smug, arrogant , self righteous attitude of an old timer witness was usually bought with the currency of a beaten ,ridiculed, awkward ,and stolen childhood.

These are just my feelings. Problemaddict, I hope the best for you and hope you keep in touch..

C.O.B.E.Beef, what is the update? How have you been and where are you now in relation to The Truth™? Perhaps I've missed some stuff in the last five years. :)
