How many meetings does a JW attend in a week?

  I always found it a bit deceptive to say we attended five meetings a week, when in reality it was only 3. Now that there are meetings only twice a week, do Witnesses still claim to attend 5 meetings a week or four?

  (That's weird. The box for a reply doesn't appear; I had to use the "Post a reply" tab at the top).

  I recall the wife of an elder ticking her husband off after a Memorial talk because when he did his usual recruitment talk at the end, he said they held five meetings a week and cordially invited newcomers to them. She told him it made it sound like they were at the KH most nights of the week and would put people off.

  It always was a stupid concept because the expectation was that you would arrive at the start and stay till the end. I, towards the end of my unhappy career as a JW, took the thing literally and would choose for myself which of the two "meetings" I would attend on a Sunday and would leave after the first "meeting" on a Tuesday night.

  Well when they said it was 5 before the book study change, it was five although 2 were on the same day for the WT study/public talk.

  Meeting 1: Public Discourse

  ... followed by

  Meeting 2: Watchtower Summary

  ... new day

  Meeting 3: Congregation Bible Study

  ... followed by

  Meeting 4: Theocratic Ministry School

  ... followed by

  Meeting 5: Service Meeting

  .......................................

  although, I think it may be considered that Meetings 2 & 3 are combined as a single meeting, there is no song between the two to differentiate

  That is what I am wondering. Is the mid week meeting counted as two or three meetings. It is still the same 3 sessions as before, but with only one intermediary song it seems like it would only be counted as 2 meetings. I also assume they only do four counts of attendance, not 5.

  From what the PO COBE says they are still five meetings a week. Other wise they would have to get rid of the finger illustration. And that has worked so well for them liking the five meetings to holding on to a edge of a cliff and which finger would you want to loose.

  They still call it 5 meetings. The meeting that used to be the book study simply has been attached to the Theocraptic Misery "School(??)" and Circus Meeting--still called a "meeting". Which makes no sense, since they are only going twice a week.

  Now, if you include Family Waste the Evening Night as a meeting at the family level, that would increase it to 6.

  And it used to be 5 hrs weekly but how many hrs total now altogether?

  My husband in gone on Sundays for two hours that counts traval time and on Tuesdays it is just a little of two hours. So I would say about a total of four hours a week if that.

  No matter how they spin it, My family mourn the loss of the Book Study, and consider that they have only 2 meetings a week
