Actually, the German edition is more suitable for this joke:

    Erwachet

The original title is: "UND WENN ES DOCH EINEN SCHÖPFER GIBT?", meaning "What if there is a creator after all?". I simply added a K, so that it now means "What if there is no creator after all?".

While the original title should make nonbelievers afraid, the modified title should make believers afraid ...

    Nickolas:

I've recently finished reading "The Selfish Gene". The book is 35 years old already but it blew me away. Insights into how evolution works I never had before. I am now into "The Greatest Show on Earth - The Evidence for Evolution" and it is even more mind expanding. The more and more you learn about evolution through natural selection the more you come to realise sentiments like the one expressed on your modified Awake! cover are right on target.

I've got a few of Dawkins' books in their audiobook format, including The Selfish Gene, The God Delusion and The Greatest Show on Earth. I find them even better that way, with Dawkins' himself narrating, along with his wife, Lalla Ward, rounding it out for many quotations. Their enthusiasm and love of teaching/explaining evolution is made clear in the narrations - Dawkins is instrumental in unlocking so many of the thought-stopping creationist babble that I was surprised still existed in my mind. Currently in the midst of Unweaving the Rainbow on my e-reader, and loving every bit of it, but will definitely be getting it in audio format when it's available.

I am certaingly not a JW but if u say science disproves the Bible then well i guess u are premmy much disinformed, and you have to take the Bible's word for what it is and not what someone says it is. Try all u want, the Bible is 100% acurate.

I mean with all these talks of evolution, have you wondered how long man has lived on this earth, and if we really evolved into this state why is it taking us too long to continue oue evolution, i would even think we should have been like angels by now, growing wings and all, but wait, i mean not a channe right?...Yep i thought so.

U dont have to be a JW to believe in an intelligent design, just look around you. Do u think a Pc would have evolved on its own with any random components, or do you think a computer program can be coded to do a specific taskt if you just typed some giberrish stuff?.. NO?....you know better..

Every man made device that have existed was build on design, and yet you deny that we are different, which is really pathetic.

And guess what?.. the Bible never stated that the world was created in 7 (24 hrs) man days. Next time get your facts straight.

Evolution is a Hoax. Period , i mean have you taught about why till date there has not been documentaions about evolving amimals. i would love them to show me a fish evovling in a toad or some other reptile...NO?....hmmm.... i though so.

I have the audiobooks, too. I've been experimenting with them, Scully. At first I read "The God Delusion" and then as a refresher I listened to it. I recently read "The Selfish Gene" while simultaneously listening to the audiobook on my iPod. My thinking is that retention of what the author wishes to convey would be improved if one was reading the text while listening to it narrated. First thing one realises is it takes much longer to listen to a book being narrated than it does to read it, but it does seem to improve comprehension a little bit. There are also some remarkable differences between the audio and text books. For one thing, when Lalla Ward is narrating she switches from the personal pronoun to the impersonal, which changes the nuance somewhat. I'm now into the process of reading The Greatest Show on Earth* without benefit of having the audiobook and I am so far enjoying it.

*bioflex, read this book, and then come back on to comment.

@Nicholas : well i dont think i need to read any book about evolution, cos i have already got my facts from the Bible. it suprises me that people are quickly to judge without any investigation. I would also suggest you find time to study the Bible, then you would know how accurate it is. i have always wondered why there has not been a single visible product of evolution still in existence, i mean just go through the tremendous lot of creatures they brought up, and even the sea creatures, how could they all be destroyed when most of them were monstrous and all.

We all believe what we want to, and at the end we would all be accountable. Let me know what flaws you find in the Bible, i am always open to truth and facts and the bible has never been proven wrong. Good luck.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can bag evolution but believe in talking snakes and people losing their superpowers getting a haircut.

Oh, my goodness. Where to begin? Hold that thought, ozbrad. If you can hold onto it while you earnestly seek out truth and facts you will be enlightened and you will be emancipated. If what you have just said is true then your world and how you see it is about to change.

But if I may suggest a place to start at random, look deeply into The Flood. Here's a pretty good thread to read to begin with:

    Then investigate!

    Welcome aboard!

@Nicholas : thanks so much buddy, u had me read though the account of the flood in a way i have never done before and boy am i glad i did, i mean all the accuracy and all. now to breaking down of points.

    * Gen 6:14 Make an ark of cyprus timbers. You shall make rooms in the ark. And you shall pitch it inside and outside with pitch.

    - This marks the beginning of the creation of the ark, i dont know what is about the Cyprus timbers but i am certain it was pretty neccesary for an ark that huge.

    * Gen 6:15 And this is the way you shall make it. The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it shall be fifty cubits and its height thirty cubits.
Gen 6:16 You shall make a window in the ark, and you shall finish it above to a cubit. And you shall set the door of the ark in the side of it. You shall make it with lower, second and third stories.

    - And this is basically defining the specifications of the ark, and bear in mind that is was three ( 3) stories.

    * Gen 6:19 And you shall bring into the ark two of every kind, of every living thing of all flesh, to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.
Gen 6:20 Two of every kind shall come to you to keep them alive; of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind.
Gen 6:21 And take for yourself all food that is eaten, and you shall gather for yourself. And it shall be for food, for you and for them.

    - Now, one interesting thing here is that, Noah didn't have to go out in search of creatures, he was only supposed to direct them into the ark. God himself orchaestrated the leading of animals the ark. And it was only the terrestrial and ariel animals that were gathered into the ark. the rest could live in the water. Noah and him family were to gather food for themselves and the animals too, which is possible.

    * Gen 7:2 You shall take with you every clean animal by sevens, the male and female. And take two of the animals that are not clean, the male and female.
Gen 7:3 Also take of the fowls of the air by sevens, the male and the female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

    - So here we realize that, Noah had to take in some animals my sevens which is seven set of two (7 x 2), and others he had to take only a pair of.

Going forward, the ark didnt have to be moved manually or be steered, scienece proves that wood cannot to submerged in water, and Noah's ark was covered all over with wood, again the flood was supposed to lift the ark, so just like a canoe or boat floats on water the ark was also on top of the water for all the time it was raining and also for the period of time the water covered the earth.

    * Gen 8:1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle which were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
Gen 8:2 Also the fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and rain from heaven was restrained.
Gen 8:3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually. And after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters had gone down.
Gen 8:4 And in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat.
Gen 8:5 And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. And the tops of the mountains were seen in the tenth month on the first day of the month.

    - So this accounts for the period after the rains had stopped and how the waters are drained (cosult your science books to know how, evaporation and all)

I dont know how difficult it is to grasp this, i mean if you looked at it from a science point of view, from the creation of the ark to the time and how how the waters drained back its all POSSIBLE. Science only proves God and an intelligent creator.

let me know what you have to say about this, and bring up any points or topics you like okay, all i know is the Bible is believble and truth worthy.
