Do you still call it The Truth"?

I never used that term. Jesus said he was the truth and JWs trying to usurp that standing is offensive to me.

From my first day out, I called it "the Lie" so I would not fall into the habit. Sometimes I call it WT teachings but never "the truth."

When speaking to non witnesses I refer to "it" as the cult.

When speaking to Witnesses I say the brotherhood.

Invariably I now refer to both the religion and the adherents as "Joe Hoes".

Never, ever, never ever, as "The Truth(tm)". I laugh and cry a little bit when I hear someone use that loaded terminology.

I find it especially ironic when I talk to a friend that is an inactive jw that has complained to me over and over about the WTS and its lies and they say "the Truth." I point out they if the WTS are telling the truth, they should go back to them and quit complaining about it. That stops them very quickly as they realize what they are truly saying.

Usually, I call it the cancer. Which is much more accurate. Occasionally I will have to call it "the truth" when quoting directly from something--with a disclaimer that the whole source is a lie. The habit is quite rare because I call it the cancer.

I do when talking to a JW or Ex-JW, but when I say it I take a pause and do my finger quotes. It's funny how that's the only phrase that triggers an automatic air quotes.

My wife says I've gone 'out of the truth!'

I tell her 'truth' is a concept. You can't go in or out of a concept.

I refer to it as 'the watchtower corporation' at all times but never the 'truth'. I never refer to it as a religion either!

    I avoid their loaded language.

Years ago, I attended several apostafests.

The sister who hosted them would say to people who came, "So, tell me, how long were you in the lie?"

It was quite a wake-up call because everyone expected her to ask the familiar, "How long were you in the truth?"

Calling it "the truth" is one of the WTS' key mind control techniques.

After all, who wouldn't want to be in the truth?

Who wants to live a lie?

If it really were the truth, why would anyone ever leave the truth for falsehood?

The fact is it's NOT the truth.
