Gen 1:29-30 29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
So long as you dont smoke pot you are OK. Enjoy those brownies and you are just having some green plant.
I remember talking to a brother at the legal dept about this. The bottom line is even though medical marijuana is legal in many States the fact that it is still illegal under federal law prohibits a "true christian" from using it. The brother or sister would not be able to be used in any priveleged capacity.

*** w97 1/15 p. 21 par. 18 What Does God Require of Us? ***We do not use tobacco, chew betel nut, or take addictive or mind-warping drugs for pleasure. (2 Corinthians 7:1)
*** w75 7/1 p. 392 Christian Growth in the Philippines ***The case of a ninety-five-year-old man in Basilan City who used to chew buyo leaves mixed with tobacco, lime and betel nut illustrates this point. He gave up his debilitating habit immediately upon learning that Bible principles show it to be unclean. (2 Cor. 7:1)
*** w72 10/1 p. 595 pars. 20-21 Your Conscience and Your Employment ***Again, the Bible does not mention the chewing of betel nuts, coca leaves or the chewing, snuffing or smoking of tobacco. Some persons have said: “Until you show me something in the Bible about the use of tobacco [or similar products], I will keep using it.” But might not one just as well say that, since the Bible does not specifically forbid throwing garbage into your neighbor’s backyard, there is nothing wrong in doing so? The Bible certainly does provide us with principles to guide us in this matter. The inspired apostle wrote at 2 Corinthians 7:1: “Since we have these promises [of being accepted by God as his approved children and servants], beloved ones, letuscleanseourselvesofeverydefilementoffleshandspirit, perfecting holiness in God’s fear.”
*** w69 2/15 p. 126 Questions From Readers ***Yet, from what we read in God’s Word, it is easy to see that the use of tobacco, whether one is smoking, chewing or snuffing it, is an unclean habit that goes contrary to Bible principles. So Jehovah’s witnesses strongly discourage its use, and they view as spiritually immature any Christians who continue to use tobacco.
*** g 8/06 p. 12 The Real Value of Blood ***That book encourages worshippers of God to avoid practices and habits that harm health or endanger life, such as overeating, smoking or chewing tobacco, abusing alcohol, and using drugs for recreational purposes.—Proverbs 23:20; 2 Corinthians 7:1.
The witlesses will die instead of taking a full blood transfusion. Therefore, why wouldn't they endure "a little mild pain and/or depression" instead of smoking weed when the weed would help with the condition? Even though weed is safer than many of the drugs that are actually used, such as Prozac and Zoloft.
I think for medical reasons, prescribed by a doctor, it is okay. My experience with loud Christians in the media is that they are not an accurate example or reflection of true Christians churches, we are too busy being Jesus's hands and feet to help "the orphan and widow" so to say, the people you see advocating stuff on TV or radio are very cultish, not different from JWs.
As far as your depression ... I was cured of mine when I finally I cut loose from that organization. I believe that treating emotional problems with Marijuana will not result in a cure but just keep masking it. There is cure for your depression, because, like in my case, I suspect yours it is because your upbringing in that organization. You need a lot of positive reinforcement, personal acceptance and know that you are loved just like you are. Believe in yourself, believe that you deserve better. Believe that you have the right to be who you are and that you are only accountable to God who knows your heart.
