My friends, all 5 of them, and I sometimes to this to people, but mainly just to see how long we can make stuff up on fly and keep them believing while making the story more and more ridiculous.

That's very different. These were very serious lies at very serious moments----life changing moments. Moments when honesty was of the highest importance. It's hard to explain, but noone with a conscience could wreak and sustain this kind of havoc.

It's not that hard to believe. I have known people like that. They are harmful and destructive and utterly without remorse.
OTOH, I mainly just want to see if I can convince people I was the lead guitarist for motorhead while we're having drinks.
