Thankyou all for the lovely thoughts and comments!

One day, i hope my threads might help other members sort through their own minefield of parenting JW teens...

I hope i do ok you know, i realize there is no certainty but i will always know i gave it my best shot. Sometimes i wish i had stayed with their mother so i could have seen them all the time, but i know inside that i was such a screw up way back when that i may not even be alive today for them if i had.

I will have to talk to the boy next time i see him about the so called 'unequal yoking' situation, as well as, frankly, some stuff he tells me about them together could now be used to disfellowship her if they are not really really careful. Cue an old chat we had about this situation...

As a daughter, I can tell you that nothing means more than being close to your Dad. Well done! It puts a smile on my face and a lump in my throat.

For your son, a dad who has his $h*t together is exactly what he needs. If you had stayed in, he probably would have still fallen for the gurl, and you would be in such close proximity that who knows? Maybe you'd be at each other's throats over it. That does tend to be the nature of the teen-parent dynamic.

I love to see parents,,, parenting in a loving way, and for their children's needs, not their own. You deserve a lot of cred for being a good dad, and don't you forget it!

You are so right. Where your kids are concerned, never give up.

You have a cry if you want,,, it's good for the soul, and a great release of emotions built up inside. Trust me, I didn't cry until I was in my 30s, and we have tears for a [therapeutic] reason.

It is great to know she is a free thinker and whilst her fashion choices may be a bit off the wall they are perfectly normal for a teenager.

Nugget.. I doubt that worries Oz too much.. her fashion choices are nowhere near as "off the wall" as her father's.. trust me..

(and I should know.. she's my niece..)

    (love ya, bro!)
