IF you have been DF'd recently.............i want to know.....

Do they tell you "legal requirements" of a DF'd behavior? Like, you cant talk to anyone, if we hear of you talking to other members it will hurt your reinstatement, do they tell you to come late and leave early, do they tell you how to be reinstated, what kinds of things if any are covered after you are told you are being DF'd???? I want to know!!

Do they tell you their basis (loose scriptural right) to take this action? Any warnings given?

More interested in hearing if they warn you about behaior that will affect length of time DF'd... Any experiences would be interesting.

Df'd in 06. They told me it was ok to come late and leave early if I wanted. Told me to attend all the meetings but did not say anything else as what would help or hurt my chances to get reinstated.

When I turned in my letter for reinstatement they did question me about hanging out with my inactive brother. Told me they understand that I may be lonely but pretty much said that was not ok. Then they told me to keep up the good work and it would not be much longer. I think they wanted me out a year but I put my letter in after 9 months. Not long after that meeting I started researching as I was not happy they turned down my heartfelt letter. I came across this site and others...I will NEVER go back!!!

Here is something to wrap your head around:

Why does it matter? If you're announced as 'no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses'......what does it matter what you're doing at all? You're NOT a JW while 'df'd'.......so why can't you just walk up and say "I would like to be back in?"

You shouldn't have to discuss your associates or habits....because they said you weren't a witness.

Oh...throw this in for extra mind tweaking material:

the Bible is ONLY for the ANOINTED.....so why are the DFing 'other sheep'.....we don't partake, we are just 'associating' with Christ's brothers, right?

Yeah............amazing the lies you get caught in when you just make crap up, huh?

I was DF in 06. They told me to come to the meetings but not speak to anyone. And they said to sit in the back. They also told me if I want my letter to be seriously considered not to turn it in too soon. It had to be like 9 months or a year. They meet with me one time and DF me. I was determined to come back but once I saw the other side of witness I was...well, disillusioned. I have not been back since. It is what it is!

I was pregnant with my daughter and very repentant... going to two book studies a week and informal witnessing. I had one elder say that he was pushing to get me reinstated before my daughter was born. It didn't happen. The rest had to stick to their stupid rule of keeping you out for a year.

Ha! Good point. But you forget, if anything in the NT can be used to control you, it applies to you, if it is encouraging and leads to Christ then it doesn't.

ShadesofGrey, good point too on what applies in NT. The Pharisees (religious hierarchy) were always mean, and ignorant of what repentance really is (awareness of my own dysfunction). The Jesus of the Bible is soooo different from the Jesus of the Watchtower.
